Especially agree with Bam Bam's assessment of Willoughby's game. For me it was the most encouraging aspect of the game. I doubt we'll see him play seniors this year unless the midfielders start going the way of the talls on the injury front, but I can see him being ready to burst into contention for the start of 2005.
For those who watch reserves games are there any standout young players from the other teams that the Swans might think of drafting or putting on the rookie list or is the standard simply not good enough to contemplate this.
What about any young guys that have been playing for the Swans reserves each week. Any potential for maybe a rookie list spot next year?
Looks like we could have a few spots up for grabs, with Bevan, Rogers, McGlone all being elevated, although they return to rookie status following the return from injury of other players dont they? Well, Bevo won't be at the very least.

Belconnen always has a few youngsters in their team who recruited from outside the ACT . Thes boys are found jobs and accomodation and given a chance to play football. In the last draft Richmond took one such youngster . Recently I meet a young player from Daniher territory who is also on the scheme and is working as an apprentice electrician. These boys will probably receive more opportunities than if they stayed in their home towns where work can be limited.
Further to my last posting on Belconnen. In last week's game against Weston Creek the club played 9 players who had played 15 games or less for Belconnen . All are under 21 years including one aged 16 years. Of course the other half of the team is older , mature and more experienced.

I try not to post each and every week about Scooter, as my sister keeps telling me I'm biased. He'd have to be my favourite regular reserves player. So given his performance wasn't as dominating as usual I cut it from my report. (after reading my draft to my sister she said "of course you'd say that, you're only slightly biased" I guess I agree with her to an extent)
He played his usual game, but perhaps he was spread across the park a little too much to have a real impact. Having said that he didn't 'star' he played a good game and I don't think he would have had much breath left at the end to blow out a candle.
He can play pretty much everywhere.
he was playing in the midfield and ran ragged, he also ran througth to kick a goal, as also showed some heart running out of the backline.
(I finally bought his players badge last weekend. Have been waiting to see one on sale at the Swans shop for a while now )
Here's my heart and you can break it
