Maxfield on SEN said he was still 50/50 but praised him for his professionalism re his rehabilitation.
Perhaps Leo could supervise Nick Davis' rehabilitation from his regular injuries. We might actually get to see him play.

Sydney back-up ruckman James Meiklejohn will be promoted from the seconds for the first time this season to replace Jason Ball after the Swans' No.1 ruck tore his hamstring during the third quarter against St Kilda.

Can anyone comment on MJs form in the 2s? Thought that LRT might be a chance given thsat he has been listed as "Available" in the injury report.

I should know by now that you can't rely on anything described in that report.

Do we go on the assumption that Leo isn't playing then? Last Thursday wasn't Davis 60/40 to play against the Saints!?

If Leo doesn't play... that could be our down fall!

          Agree.
          No Leo, Schaubs or Saddo...

Suddenly our backline is looking thin.

We really may get to see Goodes V Tredrea (although C Bolton may get a go). If so, this game could be a defining moment in Goodes' career.

Thin and short however I reckon Goodes can take Tredrea, particularly if he doesn't play close to goal. Then B2 or James can take Mead/Brogan the resting ruckman.

It's possible they'll move Chad Cornes forward (Wakelin on Hall, Bishop on MickyO) in which case B2 for him.

Trust me if Goodes lines up on Tredrea, Tredrea will move to the goal square.

Which may play into our hands because I think we may have the edge in the midfiels at the moment.

according to my dream of last night the following will happen

Leo will play from the goal square
Bevan will follow him around all game with a 70's style leather swivel chair in case he needs to sit and rest his ankle and Wanganeen wont be playing as he hurt his head.

if you're confused how do you think I feel
Here's my heart and you can break it
I need some release, release, release
                  We need
                  Love and peace

That doesn't make sense to me. At the moment Goodes strength is his body-on-body work. Due to his dodgy knee, he has lost a bit of pace and around the ground athleticism. If Goodes was to play on Tredrea, they would be counting on Tredrea to do alot of work around the ground and exploit Adam's temporarily loss of pace and athleticism, not wrestle with him one-one in the goal square basically.

I'm afraid I agree with "robbieando"

Even after the injury Goodes has far greater aerobic athleticism than Tredrea.
However a bustling push and shove will test the mechanical athleticism/stability of Goodes' knee far more than any amount of ground covered.

Therefore they will play Tredrea deep

                        "Ruckman"

I have been watching Goodes since his injury, and if you have too, you would have noticed that he has won almost every one-one contest bar a couple.

He has been caught out on leads, and keeping a check on his roaming opponent.

Yes "Cheer Cheer" you are quite correct as to his post knee performance, yet I do not believe he has not confronted a true Gorilla like Tredrea.

Also being caught out on leads says more about Adam's looseness of checking rather than looseness of knee or loss of footspeed.

In any case I did not explain myself fully.

What I meant about Tredrea playing deep, is not that he'd stand imobile in the goalsquare and try and wrestle Adam.

I think Williams will try to get him to test Adam's knees, nerve and checking with strong short leads, turns and double backs within goalrange rather than hunting kicks up on the wing.

We'll in any case we can speculate all we like, but if Barry doesn't come up, and Goodes happens to play on Tredrea, one thing i'm sure we can agree on is that it will be a cracker of a match-up and will be extremely intriging how Tredrea plays Goodes and vice-versa.

We've both put our P.O.V's across, so if the match-up occurs let's see who is closer to the mark!

Oh I forgot to mention - when you limp on one leg like adam does cause of the looseness and bandaging - albiet it has got much better - you are gonna lose pace and athleticism, not matter who you are, even a man name Adam Godoes.

Whoever Goodes plays on, that is a big weakness ATM to exploit.
