Doyle is clearly a liability to the team. He never gets on the park and when he does he does sfa.

Our ruck division is clearly a concern and too much import is placed on Ball and his career is beginning to wind down.

Even someone like Dean Cox of the Eagles or Dean Brogan of the Power would be better than Doyle.

Unfortunately neither Micklejohn or LRT look to be much better. Maybe we would have been better off trying to get Matthew Allan from Carlton.

What, so he could have played for 2 years, and in 2 years time we'd be in a worse off position than we are now. That's some great long term planning.

Maybe we should just continue to recruit old has-beens. Adelaide are doing great things at the moment. And it worked wonders for us in the years following 1996.

they will only have to make a contest - but once the ball hits the ground, it will be like there is 4 midfielders in there!
Going 4 high is also handy when trying to fight off the blue meanies who've invaded Pepperland.

Peter gave me a very interesting insight into why present day ruckmen are getting injured these days. Aparently Sam Newman said as much on the Footy Show just recently.

The gist of what he was saying was the fact that present day coaches are not coaching ruckmen like they used to. Whereas in the past ruckmen were trained specifically to palm the ball down to their rovers etc, these days they are instructed to more or less crash into each other at centre bounces, hence the amount of knee in juries experienced these days.

Interesting comments. Even if would rate Doyle as more a traditional type of tap ruckman rather than a transformed part-time one.

But yeah, I'm losing patience with him as a footballer. I have serious doubts that he'll make it in the long run.

Another Ryan Fitzgerald? (LOL, on second thoughs, I hope not!!!)
