    Davis

It looks from the telly that ND still has a problem with the ankle. I wonder about the wisdom of playing him at all...surely it would have been better to thoroughly rest it in time for the wobbles game... I don't think he's had a sniff yet...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

I think if O'Loughlin had played I think they might have rested Davis. Roos needed some firepower up forward to have any hope of winning the match.

I've thought this for a long time. This kid has been on an AFL list so long for one reason - "ABLETT"

Cut Ablett - he is hopeless.

Ablett, meikeljohn and probably Powell are not AFL standard. James is not a defender. kirk had an off day.

              I dunno.

Ablett, sure he's shown nothing, cut him.

But MJ, first game this year, I think he still has something to add, and I actually reckon Powell looks the part. Give him some more game time and see what he can do.

James needs some more strength which should come during preseason work, and the help of some guys returning from injury. I think he can still make it as a key defender.

Damn Kirky had a dirty day, not like him to be so off the boil.

I would replace Ablett with Powell from this day on the bench.

Davis needs some time to rest and recuperate.

Never seen Kirk play so badly - overrunning the ball and fumbling. But he's allowed the occasional poor one.

I'm not convinced about MJ, but I'd to see him get more time.

James and Powell both look good, but we'll see whether that translates into being good over time.

Was happy with Mullet, nonplussed about Ablett and not concerned by Meiklejohn (I see this as another rookie season for him, he's only young and raw, not yet expected to be at AFL standard).

                      Meikeljohn , still early days.
Powell , short on class though I can't fault his committment.
                      NOG , I doubt he'll make it.

But the real question is : if we are so critical of NOG , yet he keeps his place - doesn't that suggest there is a problem with depth in our list ?

Powell and Ablett don't look up to it but Powell is a trier. Have been saying for weeks that Davis should be rested for the rest of the season, bruised bones take months to get over.

                          MJ is an absolute dud.

Throw in Ablett and Fosdike into that as well.

For a relatively senior player, Fosdike's finishing skills are very very ordinary.

On a positive note, Jude had a ripper. He tried his guts out, as usual.

But it's nice, just as a mark of respect for the opposition, if we can find 18 players to put on the field. The choice was Nick or a rookie and I suspect we put him on to have a canter around and hopefully produce something magical if the ball came near him.

Hit the nail on the head there. Micky being in and out has hindered Nicky being rested properly to get over his injuries.

He really did not seem to be able to turn on slow down at all the short time he was on the ground, god only knows (well also Nick and the trainer, but that doesn't have the dramatic impact) how tightly his ankle was strapped.

To his credit that he kept coming back on when they were desperate.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
