Unfortunately we don't have the depth to cover a bunch of injuries while blooding youngsters and not exposing them to potential poundings as per Brisbane this year with the likes of Pratt, Corrie and Macdonald.

Let's just be thankful that we have the bye this week and not next otherwise we could have really struggled to name a side.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

edit: **** that sounds too anti nick, i will imply that it may not be his fault he's playing injured.

Jared Crouch: he'll play, he's only got concussion. He'd rather play with a wooden leg than miss a game.

Our prospects: We will not finish fifth. Even with a full list fifth would be difficult. Seventh to ninth is more likely. Have you seen the Swans' draw? We got Collingwood, Carlton and Adelaide, which should give us two or three wins, but after that it's top-nine sides for six weeks in a row: Geelong, Fremantle, Brisbane, Kangaroos, Melbourne, Essendon. Round 22 we have Richmond. Even with a full list, that is a daunting draw.

With a draw like that, and all our injuries, we would be doing well to win six more games to sneak into eighth.

i disagree, we should have the bulk of our list back by the collingwood game and the beauty of those six weeks is that they will all be 8 point games. we couldve had 5th spot if we had won last week

if results of other games fall our way and we win against the pies, blues, crows, tigers and kangaroos - we SHOULD win those games - and then snag 2 of 3 from dockers, lions and bombers - all home games - and then snag 1 from the dees or cats - both away games, thats 8 from 10 TOO EASY

edit: thats a 14-8 record, same record as last year...

our seasons (or is that seasones ) normally have a purple patch and then a poor patch and then a good patch, i reckon we arent far off from a purple patch

With both Fozzy and Buccy out, Fixter will get another run in the 2's this weekend, he would have to be a shoe in to come back in for Collingwood you would think.

                I tend to agree.

I have the final ladder after the H&A rounds like this:
                Code:
                Bris Lions	18	4
                St Kilda	17	5
                Melbourne	15	7
                Essendon	15	7
                Geelong 14	8
                Port Adelaide	13	9
                Sydney 13	9
                Fremantle	12	10

                Kangaroos	10	12
                West Coast	10	12
                Collingwood	9	13
                Adelaide	8	14
                W Bulldogs	6	16
                Carlton 6	16
                Hawthorn	5	17
                Richmond	5	17

with a slight change in your % NMW, we could knock port out of the finals first week again at home this time

Anyway, back to the teams for next week

                                Last week's team was

                                Backs: J. Crouch C. Bolton P. Bevan
Half Backs: L. Ablett A. Goodes T. Kennelly
                                Centre: S. Maxfield P. Williams B. Mathews
                                Half Forwards: R. O'Keefe B. Hall J. McVeigh
                                Forwards: A. Buchanan M. Powell M. Nicks
                                Followers: J. Bolton, B. Kirk, L. Roberts-Thomson
                                Interchange: N. Fosdike, H. James, N. Davis, J. Meiklejohn
                                Emergency: S. Dempster, J. Thewlis

                                Since then...out Fosdike, Buchanan

                                In Barry, O'loughlin, Ball, Doyle.

So next week's team should be..

                                Backs: J. Crouch C. Bolton P. Bevan
Half Backs: L. Barry A. Goodes T. Kennelly
                                Centre: S. Maxfield P. Williams B. Mathews
                                Half Forwards: R. O'Keefe B. Hall J. McVeigh
                                Forwards: N. Davis M O'Loughlin M. Nicks
                                Followers: J. Ball, J. Bolton, B. Kirk,
                                Interchange: L. Ablett , H. James, M. Powell, S. Doyle
                                Emergency: B. Fixter, J. Thewlis, L. Roberts-Thomson

In other words the 2 ruckmen are replaced (straight swap)

The roughy is whether (for team balance) we need another midfielder/small forward, in which case Fixter, Thewlis or McGlone would come in for Powell or James.
