We haven't won the flag since 1933 because we haven't made the finals in very many years. Since 1933, we have only made the finals in 1934, 1935, 1936, 1945, 1970, 1977, 1986, 1987, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001 and 2003. In those 14 seasons, we made the Grand Final 5 times for 5 losses.

I believe we will break the drought sometime in the next 10 years.

The reasons are complex, and they change from period to period. All of the above, and others, have existed at various times. Some were internal, some were external. Some were our doing, some were not our doing.

One thing they have in common is that they are in the past, and can't be changed.

I don't care how long it's been since our last flag... I care only about how long it'll be before our next one.
