I hear they can do that now...

There are always a lot of nobodies in the Collingwood cheer squad!

That was us mate. Paul (the Freak) was the deaf guy to the left of the aisle. Nat (Seth the Swan of death) was the guy wearing a tie. And Peter_H was down the front getting all the chants started. Robbie and I were waving flags behind him. Cher and Cheer Squad Steve further down the bay helping with the chanting. Not that there was horribly much to cheer about.

We were getting pumped and the game was heaps boring. So we decided to entertain the locals with our songs and ditties. By the end of the match they were lapping it all up. Most wished us well, which is nice and belies the stereotype of the feral Port supporter.

We were in a weirdly bouyant mood after the game as we crossed the West Lakes Mall carpark to the after-match at the Lakes International. We broke into a chant of "If you like winning finals, clap your hands!" These Port biker types started yelling stuff like "what happened fellas? You were ****!" Then Boofhead yelled back "what would you know about football mate?" Their reply was to chuck chicken legs and sausages from their BBQ at us. Am stilling laughing about that!

Bloody Boofhead, I tell you. We very nearly left him in Balranald yesterday after lunch when he went walkies, but that is a story for another thread I think.

3 states, 1500 km, Maccas, Fasta Pasta, and KFC. We are the Travelling Willburies in red and white.

Will definitely be doing the Melbourne trip by car with Pete for the Carlton. With 4 people we could do it for $30 a pop return in petrol. Driving to away matches certainly is more of an adventure. Even if Adelaide is a tad on the long side.
