I don't honestly think we're missing anyone from last season (or previous seasons for that matter). I just think that there are certain players who simply aren't doing enough (who could be doing ALL that and more-stand up Messrs. Fosdike/LRT).

Geez thats a bit harsh. LRT was out through injury for 5 weeks. And sure Fosdike should be playing better, but would he be able to cover our lack of tall options due to injury even if he was? I dont fancy seeing him play in a key defensive position. Not that we will, coz hey, now he's injured too.

if u go by the afl computer game fosdike must of been ill in 2004 game he was 189 cms and then he shrunk back to his 178 or whatever he his for premiership edition no wonder he is struggling!!

Not trying to be harsh-just realistic. Yes, LRT was out injured for 5 weeks. Where was he prior to that though? He's exactly the type of player who needs to step up. Buchanan is an excellent example of what LRT should be striving for-hasn't got the flashiest of skills (as yet) but puts his guts out there and makes a solid contribution where he can. LRT will prove me wrong.

Fosdike should have been more of a presence 2-3 years ago. I'm not suggesting that he's a Defender, he should be an exceptional midfielder by now though, with consistency and toughness being one of his biggest features. Haven't seen it yet and I don't think we ever will. Racking up lots of possessions/disposals is not always the most accurate depiction of a players quality.

You're right, we won't be seeing what he's in/capable of for a few weeks due to injury. I only hope this injury doesn't deflate his trade value during the silly season. I reckon he's gone (off to Hawthorn for draft picks-time for Roosy to get serious about re-building).

against port he didnt look like he could catch a cold... but i think he deserves some time

I agree. How much time is reasonable though? I think 2-4 seasons is plenty of time for a match committee to be able to assess an individuals playing ability. Its taken even less than that in other instances (Mott, for example).

LRT wont be going anywhere, he is big bodied, tall and for the limited amount of AFL footy he has played has great ability to read game.

He was always long term prospect, who happens to have shown early signs, so he gets slated !!!!

Not suggesting that LRT be offered for trade, only that he gets off his dot and improves on his form from last year (which most would agree was impressive for a debutante).

Two different scenarios, but both have been hampered by injury in different ways.

LRT has not been consistently on paddock this year, wait till he has and judge him at seasons end as you should all young inexperienced players

Fossie, down on last year but has had several niggling injuries. Fossie is not silky skills but hard work, great athelete and relies on speed endurance etc. He is not a buckley/hird/voss type who can just slot back into team and shine. Judge him on extended run in side. His week in week out contribution is often underestimated, due to role he plays. Happy to admit he is well down on last year tho
