Still able to buy rows of 10 in Prime Seating...not sure what that means but I will say: 48,000

Happy to be totally wrong though!

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Gee, haven't times changed? Since when is a crowd of 60000+ a failure.

Hark back to 1994 and the 5600 we drew against the Bears. And don't feel too depressed if we don't fill the ground.

Exactly what I was thinking. 50,000+, prime time TV coverage, national audience, game of the round - literally, all up against the best RU can offer.
            We've come a long way.

              * The fact that its at Telstra draws out a lot of people as it is ooo much easier to get to.
Of course that depends on where you are coming from.
Coming from the airport it means two train trips or a taxi at close to $50, which is a good idea if you have four people, but not an option for someone travelling alone.
Then to get back to the city afterwards you are forced to buy a return train ticket as its a special event and they won't sell a one way, and you have to make sure you don't miss the last train, as they leave so early, and if you decide to get a taxi back its a couple of hours wait for one.
So I guess you mean its easier to get to if you live nearby!!!

Me, I reckon the easiest ground to get to is Skilled Stadium, but that doesn't mean I'll go there often!

Why would they be giving away tickets if the game was selling so well? I reckon 60K plus estimates are fantasy talk, but I guess we will see.

I heard 63,000 tickets "sold". Lets say 65K by Saturday night.
At least 10K of those will be either swans members, or stadium members who would rather watch the rah rah.

So 55,000 is probably as good as it will get.

Good ploy for a sponsor to be giving tickets away a couple of days away from the match. They know they have around another 10,000 seats that won't be sold so why not get a sponsor to dig deep and hand them out.

Not a good idea to be giving out freebies (like the NRL has done in the past) way before the event just to get a crowd through the door.

As for crowds, I reckon the rugby match won't be as much of a crowd puller away as we think. Given the choice of going to an event or watching one on TV most will probably take the live event first. Plus while it is a big match, it is not like it is the final of anything which once again will mean people may take the live choice over the TV option.

It has probably effected ticket sales but I rekon it has been minimal at best.

As a stadium member, you have to physically go and get a ticket for the game. If that is the case they knew of the RU game at the time of going out of their way to get a ticket.

Tends to suggest they will turn up for it.

Same goes for Swans members as well.
