Still, his one touch tonight was probably better than his one touch in round 5, and maybe even better than his 2 touches in round 2.
I am not unhappy with LRT for the long term but all this "blooding"
experience is not helping his real development. He needs 30-40 games in the seconds and then another try.

IMHO Doyle really stepped up from about midway through the 3rd quarter in the ruck. Seemed like he suddenly found his timing and was really dominating the hitouts in the last quarter.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I thought he was decent at the death in a pressure situation.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

          Bring back Heath. Please.

LRT can make a contest. Heath can win them.

          Give Heath a chance!!

I was reasonably impressed with Doyle, given that he's had a few injury worries. Didn't notice him much in the first half, but thought he was pretty solid in the second.

On LRT, I think he has loads of potential but agree that James would probably give us more value at the moment. I suspect LRT was in the team this week because they had some doubts over whether Ball and Doyle would last the difference, and at least Lewis is able to provide some kind of contest at centre bounces if there's no-one else.

Another pre-season and I reckon LRT will come good, though.

Wow. I actually thought that was one of the best games I have seen Doyle play. He continually seemed to be getting first touch, although it was a bit iffy whether or not he got it to advantage or not. I was very, very impressed with him tonight.

Doyle's second half was immeasurably better than the first.
His tap work plus the the tactic of getting two big men in the congestions pulled stopped the third man up having any influence and allowed our rucks to dominate particularly the last 10 or mintues.

Yep I was impressed with Doyles game, one of the best I have seen from him.

Wish I could say the same with LRT, he looks like a Roo in headlights most of the time.
