Shots from frees

Did anyone count the shots on goal from free kicks? I don't remember us getting one, but I reckon more than half their score came from free kicks.

Collingwood got 3 goals from free kicks and also got a goal as a result of a 50m penalty. So 4 of their goals were gifted wraped for them.

With 5 minutes left in the second quarter the Pies lead the free kicks 8-1.

It was about then that Leo's mark was handed to Rocca - and the commentators named Goldspink as the culprit.

Instantly, everything became clear.

The umpiring was @@@@house, but we won. There was a lot of high contact and in-the-back ignored, but we got lucky with some of the crap decisions so I can't complain too much.

Midaro, you must memorize his face so you can bump him in front of a tram if the opportunity arises.

I have to watch the replay of course, but being there, it was the most horrible bit of anti swans umpiring I have ever witnessed.

I was a bit too caught up yelling instead of checking out replays, so I could have missed some obvious things but GEEEEEEEEZZZZ it was awful.

IMO The umpiring was awfully biased in the first half - in the second half it was just bad.

Funny thing is Pies supporters are complaining about the umpiring on their board too. Some of the holding the ball decisions were pretty harsh on both sides.

I was sitting in clear view of the free against Leo and my mouth was frothing.

I hate Goldspink..passionately. More than I hate Collingwood.

I havent seen the reply yet. But on the big screen it didnt look a free. I have seen worst called play on.

Wasnt it good to see crouchy urging the crowd to boo!

nothing in it. I dont know if there is anything in the player's code of conduct that says a player cant put a hand to his ear. Good stuff Crouchy, the umpiring was terrible at times, for both teams - the radio commentators made special mention of it as well.

I just can't understand how consistently @@@@@@ Goldspink is!!!
The bias is an absolute joke.
It seems as though they (the AFL) chose him as an evener to make it a more exciting match because I'm sure they must be aware of how much he seems to hate us.

You can almost see the pain when he has to award us a kick.

That Leo/Rocca free was laughable.

I hadn't felt so disgusted with the umpiring after the 1st quarter for quite some time as I was on Sat. night.
It totally buggered up my enjoyment of the game for the rest of the night.

Haven't seen a reply of the 1st q. yet but I suspect I'll feel vindicated when I do. A few nudges in the back to Baz and C. Bolton (by Buckley which lead to a goal) v. similar to Leo on Rocco not paid, our forwards just do not get those free kicks. What's with those sheparding frees, the one against Crouch..... maybe he was a fair way from the fall of the footy, but the one against Kirk was a joke.
