'Cause those who were at the game must have noticed that Ablett was shifted onto Woewodin late in the first quarter after he had had 6 touches and was looking damaging.

Ablett kept Woewodin to 14 for the game - just 3 in the second half.

Personally I would have put Ablett somewhere in our best - especially given he had 15 possessions himself.
Can we possible develop Ablett into a defensive midfielder, which would allow Kirk/Crouch to find the ball? Or am I getting it wrong in that Kirk and Crouch play their best footy when they have someone to tag?

If Ablett's problem is finding the ball, then sticking him on a ball-winner will teach him a few things about where to go to get the footy.

I think you are off with the pixies, how many were recieves and what did he do with it. point is this is his best and after five years he still dosen't look like he belongs imo others are ahead of him now ie AB and JT

I can't recall Ben from 2002, but last night I thought he's the goods. Noggy was useful, Thewlis we need to see more of.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I don't think there were any passengers last night, everyone had a piece of the action. A whole team perfomance.

it was funny to watch as woey was tagging bolton and ablett was tagging woey...

im not a massive fan of ablett's but i thought he played pretty well last night. according to prowess he had 7 uncontested gets with 9 receives, i dont know how that adds up to 15 but it gives you a good picture, he didnt get any contested possessions... he also had 1 CB clearance and 1 around the ground clearance

one thing that i find amazing is that LRT's stats totals only 1! he had a major influence in the last quarter without getting a stat, his attack on the ball in a marking contest was great

bevan's guts are unparalleled, he just loves backing in to packs!

great to see the fix finally back in action!

thewlis IMO looked like he belonged as well
