Can anyone comment on young Erickson? Evidently an ex Scotch boy from Melbne, how is he going as a raw tall?

Very very raw. Palpable improvement over the past few months in his reserves performances but still a long way to go.
Andrew Ireland spoke about Erikson at the brunch before the Roos game in Canberra. He said that the club looked upon him as a long term option but had grown tired of not having a really tall ruckman and recognised you sometimes had to take a punt on a long-shot and sit tight in the hope he would get there in a few years.
He als pointed out that a couple of years ago Erikson was playing underage basketball as his main sport. So even playing him against men in the Canberra league in a sport he has barely played throughout his junior years was like throwing him to the wolves. -
Extremely slight, but has improved immeasurably in the 3 months since his first game in Red and White.
Long, long term prospect, but I reckon the club would be VERY happy with the experiment so far.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

having known erikson from school, i must say i was very surprised that we bothered to pick him up. he was very tall and very awkward at school. we also had brown from hawthorn and he was a superstar at school. I hardly even knew erikson played football. We used to laugh about how tall he was though.Comment

I think he's on track. As Lizz mentioned, he is a long term prospect. His first couple of games were forgettable, but he's making up for lost time. Yet to do a lot a ruck duties, mainly on the field in the forward line. Has improved in his marking and confidence. Wouldn't expect to see him dominate for some time yet. So far so good though. Here's my heart and you can break it
I need some release, release, release
