Your better off staying in the city and catching a bus to the ground. Or staying at a beach suburb like Coogee.

Hmmm you could look for hotels around central station and either walk to the ground or catch a shuttle bus/Taxi to the ground

I would go with Captian's suggestion and try Coogee.

You could stay at the pub (Coogee Bay Hotel) or the place next door (sorry can't remember the name)

        Catch a bus from there.

This was in one of the Member E-mails. Might be worth a look.

City, Ultimo, Pyrmont are the easiest or anywhere like Coogee, Randwick, Maroubra have quick bus services that go past the SCG.

Bondi Beach also is quick to the SCG, but not direct.

It's pretty direct actually. You just get a bus from there that goes to the city and get off halfway along the Paddington stretch of Oxford Street (just past the Paddo Inn on the right as you're sittin' on the bus). From there it's a five minute walk down the hill, past the Olympic Hotel and over the road to the Moore Park entrance to the ground.

I used to just walk when I lived at Bondi - I guess it is direct if you catch the 380 down Oxford! I didn't think of that.

I was thinking about 380 to the Junction and then the 355 down Cook Road and onto Lang and getting off next to Fox Studios. Totally forgetting the Moore Park Rd entrance.

Do Easts still have a bus service?

Yup. I've been going early most of this season to watch the reserves play and so had forgotten about it.

Very convenient. Get to Bondi Junction, find Easts Leagues and it goes about every 15 minutes from a couple of hours before the game. Free, takes five minutes or so, and drops you off straight outside.

Two websites that may come in useful are wotif and lastminute. Wotif lists rooms at the Randwick Lodge as still being available here but you should be able to find something satisfactory through these websites for under $100 per night.

Give the Novatel a call. They have some really good weekend specials at some of their lower level hotels, such as Ibis and Mercure chains, particularly if their are say 3 of you going.

                              Usually good quality hotels.
