    Paul Bevan take a bow

I'm biassed because Bevo comes from our part of the world but take bow mate, crunch goal and crunch tackle that's sets up another one, you're my hero tonight thats for sure.

Definitely not a case of being biased mate - for a guy playing his 14th game, he played it like it was his 214th. Really stepped up at the right time.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

He's certainly been a huge bonus this year.

It's almost at the stage now, where his first year could potentially surpass Schneider's.

Big call I know, but if he continues to develop at his current rate. its possible.

That is a big call.... but I do think Bevan has been the shinning star this season.

Terrific under pressure, fantastic goal; Bevan definitely take a bow!

How good was that goal? You might expect something like that from a Williams or a Maxfield, not a rookie! Absolutely brilliant.

I know he has come in for a little criticism about his kicking, but that shot never ever looked like missing. Executed some lovely tackles too. Hope he polls well in the National Rising Star award.

agree. He seems to have more license (or more confidence to leave his man) to run through the midfield and even sneak into the forward line. Again played a great game in defense - i think he was only outmarked once - and his tackling was ferocious. That one in the last quarter to setup for Fixter's pass to Bazza's 6th goal epitomises his enthusiasm and dedication to the task. I cant recall him giving away a free as well!

Bevan has been a top find - hope he gets the rising star award again.
He is cool headed and a top defence etc.
                    Talent coming everywhere.
I think and I hope Schneider is just exhausted.
He looked it he didnt have anything left him.
                    Love those Swans

Bevan is a little machine, cant wait to see Dempster or Scooter get a run....

He has been great and I am a big fan but Schneider's contribution was much more important to the team last year than this year. He is really needed in the squad. However if Bevan gets more run in the midfield or in the Forwards (when Schauble is back maybe?) you might be right.

We should have at least one player each year to "come from nowhere" and be good. One thing Roos has done well is get a flow of good young players.

the think I liked is that he made a couple of mistakes in the 3rd quarter...but bounced right back in the last with that great goal and his part in another. most inexperienced players would have dropped their bundle

They must be starting to expect the Bevo tackle now, he is like a miniature BBBH, I think they hear him coming and dispose poorly even if he doesn't nab them.

How about the nickname "Chopper" cos' he chops em' down?

In '96 our great tackling was a feature just as much as any part of our game.

Loved that tackle, I kept pointing out to my better half how he set up Bazza's mark and goal.

Why is everyone so keen for someone to wear #14? Can't a player make their own number as prestigious?
