Ball played with bad back

Ball woke up with a bad back and apparently said he thought he could get through the game. Roos said in interview that he couldn't bend over - now I know why we saw more of Doyle. So he did well to play. LRT did injury before game. Williams recovering from last week.
So we played with injuries - plus obviously Goods, O'Loughlin and Schneider.
Gosh I hope we can come up with a healthy slate soon.

Let's not forget though (god knows we've heard it enough times).... last week Wobbles played without Tarrant and the Blues played yesterday without Whitnall & Fevola

If LRT was injured before the game, couldn't we use an emergency ?
I remember Brisbane has the same problem about a month ago and Lethal revealed that he hadn't been aware that he could replace a player that was injured in the warm-up. Maybe we'd used all our emergencies (1) by replacing Fosdike with Fosdike.

We could have, but as you pointed out, we'd already used our 23rd player who made the trip to cover for Fossie's injury, so we simply did not have anyone else who could play.

No - sounds as though Fosdike was injured on Friday, so we could have got another emergency there. LRT was actually injured himself after the game started, according to Nathan Gibbs, when he was warming up around the side-line, before he'd gone on. I wonder if the rules cover that.

Schneider really should have a game in the reserves, he looked like the ealiest Swans games of Derek Kickett.

Given that big Jason Ball is going to need a break soon (back spasms not good) it may give the Swans a chance to see what a Doyle/Goodes ruck partnership would be like.

Doyle takes the centre square bounce then moves forward to provide some height up there, and Goodes gets to run around the ground (yes I know he's injured but it's too slight to be operated on) doing his impression of Elsa the Lioness.
