    Schauble back!

From reports in several newspapers today it looks like LRT going out means that Schaubs will be back in the team this weekend.

Love to see him back, but I would have thought another run in the twos just so he could run a full game instead of a half game in the ones would have helped.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Considering the way Adelaide were structured against Melbourne (no real KPP up forward), I don't see why we'd risk Schauble this week... unless it's considered worth the risk to have him more match fit for the Geelong game.
        We hate Anthony Rocca
        We hate Shannon Grant too
        We hate scumbag Gaspar
        But Leo WE LOVE YOU!

          Exactly.
Forget Schauble - we've been playing too many half fit players as is - IMO its been half our problem this year.

He's never exactly been an athlete - so unless he's needed for a specific job, I'd give him a month in the reserves for fitness.

Apparently he played well in the 2s. And it sound like Roos has already made the call.

I think Leo is the man for Welsh.Welsh is a medium sized leading player who would take a slow half fit Schauble to town.

Yeah I agree with Leo as the man for Welsh.

I was just saying that I think ADL do have a forward structure with a KPP as opposed to not having a a KPP....

Welsh is an old skool FF.

I expect S Stevens to line up at CHF as well.

agree. Schaubs wouldnt be able to keep up to begin with. After chasing Welsh for 10 minutes, he'd run out of puff and that would be his afternoon done and done.

No more than Phillip Matera, Nick Davis or Nathan Brown.

                            Charlie good point you make.

However I think that since Carey has retired, Welsh is now installed a a KEY Full Foward.

With returns of 2, 7 and 8 goals in his last 3 matches and I expect him to play in that role for the rest of the year.

No mention that Schuable would come in to play down back !!!!

We all cry out for Plan B on this site and when something like this comes up everybody immediately looks at where Schuable usually plays and then calls it we don't need him this week.

Fact is without LRT we lose a lot of flexibity. If the Crows are going to concentrate on Hall, then why not play Schuable as a decoy CHF/FF and give them something to think about when deciding how to match up against Hall and Magic.

McGregor has been fantastic for the Crows this year at CHB/CHF and at present he is playing at CHB, if Schuable plays up front it will probably mean they don't have the luxury of playing him forward where he will be very dangerous.

You can see Roos is a smart coach as he is already thinking of ways to cover LRT and get the Crows to play the game on our terms.
