I think St Kilda made sure he wasnt coming home anytime soon by giving him the captaincy. The only chance we may see him back in sydney is if that captain merry-go-round keeps rolling on there and he eventually gets sick of melbourne (or misses his family and friends here).

fosdike is a player who has poetential and has been disapointing...
but saddington is tall take a good mark can run and play either end he is a vital player in our team

Hayes is a player with potential who has proven to be very very good so far. Both Fosdike and Saddington are players who we thought had huge potential but, as yet, have not been able to live up to expectations.

We need a star midfielder - Hayes will be a good start.

i think saddington frees goodes up to ruck rove we have kirk williams and maxfield as top line mid fielders.

Then people like bolton and crouch and matthews etc all ready to take the next step

and young midfielders like mcveigh

yes hayes is great but hardley that desperate for a midfielder we need to chuck away a good tall running player like saddington we is quite a good player and can only get better

How does Saddington free up Goodes to ruck-rove? Saddington was not strong enough to play CHB, so was playing forward for for a fair few games before doing his knee. Williams and Maxfield are set to retire in the next couple of years and - although still playing very good footy - will probably not improve on their stellar form of a few years back. Kirky is a star, but is primarily a defensive midfielder. Im talking about a star attacking midfielder.

BoltonJ may yet take the step up, but Crouch and Mathews are work-horses who will probably not take the next step to become elite stars of the comp.

McVeigh looks the goods, but has yet to prove it.

I cant fault your obvious optimism that all our players "can only get better", but you have to look at it realistically and objectively as well.

If we were able to trade Fosdike and Saddington for Hayes it would be the trade of the century. Bring it on!

i think saddington plays good in defence he did struggle at the start of this year but with C.Bolton, Barry and schuable he fits into the backline nicely

I am also just saying we would be better off targeting a tall good player instead of another midfielder
