I guess that the Sydney based members didn't get this email so I sent a reply to rsvp for about 10 people, The Barwon Club is a couple of minutes walk from my place, and I had already suggested a drink there before the game, but wasn't sure if they opened before 12.

Geelong South is the nearest station and its right near the ground, in fact you'll see it when you get off.
      Once was, now elsewhere

South Geelong Railway Station is the closest, you can't see the ground from the Station but if you're on the right side you'll see it from the train a couple of minutes before you arrive.
Its about two blocks walk to the ground and the Barwon Club hotel is another couple of blocks past Kardinia Park, towards the river.

Ticketmaster7 is acting up at present and showing no tickets in doubles or more at all!

Plus single student tickets are $40 with a Swans Vic membership!

It is a bloody stitch up!!

I called them and they were going to slug me with a $7 "service fee".

Will try and get to the Capitol Theatre this week to buy one. Peter tells me that there are new Ticketmaster outlets springing up all over town. Heaps easier than online bookings or through a call centre.

Would just rocking up when the gates open on Sunday be somewhat foolhardy?

For the CS area but I still need to buy a GA ticket into the ground from what I hear.

I got my ticket in the mail today and it didn't have a barcode, so I would suggest JF, that you get a GA ticket into the ground just in case. I will follow this up with the club during the week.

                      Geelong

Skilled Stadium hasn't changed much from the early 1900's so therefore they have no barcode facilities for scanning tickets. Therefore many of the tickets for Sunday's game won't have a barcode on them.

Also, you are braver than Kirky if you go down there without a ticket expecting to get one at the ground.

I just called the Swans office and that ticket you get is your reserved seat as where to sit and your actual melbourne membership gets you into the actual ground.

I assume JF has to buy a GA ticket to get into the ground as he is not a Melbourne member.

But robbie just use your melbourne membership to get into the ground, then use your ticket for your reserved seat inside the ground. Confirmed by Lucinda at the office today.

This ticketing at Sleepy Hollow is quite strange. I read on here that 150 GA tickets are held for match day.

Ticketmaster at Myer Eastland in Melb tell me the following at 9.30am today.

Only single seats available, no area set aside for Swans members, under 1000 GA seats left at end of trading Monday, Geelong's aim is to have the ground fully ticketed for Geelong supporters so they can pre-sell the whole seating area for the season (guess allowance is made for opposing CS), is the most expense ground.

Looks like in the future they aim to lock out most opposition supporters.

Iwas happy to get standing room but there was a lady before me who had 3 Swans AFL Memberships who could not get 3 seats together, 4.30pm Monday. She was not young, say late 50's and she said it was not worth it to travel there then stand at her age. She just looked at her husband, fanned the 3 tickets in her hand and shrugged her shoulders and walked away disgusted. You don't have to be genuis to know what they were thinking.

The Ticketmaster lady said she had a few Swans supporters in the same boat during the day. Mind you it is no better for Melbourne based Brisbane supporters. They have 2 bays this week at the MCG in the upper deck of the Southrn Stand for members. How bad is that. The rest is allocated to Collingwood members. You reckon they are not spewing. And with limited ground capacity it is probably fully ticketed so you can't just walk in and sit down in certain areas.

So chances are for us in the future if we are fixtured at Geelong then one game on our ticket is useless. Bit more food for thought for Mr. Morwood.

i bought my ticket on monday afternoon at the capitol theatre in sydney...they were selling only reserve areas seats, gold , silver and bronze , of which bronze were the cheapest at $38 ...they weren't selling general admission. they said g.a's were only available at the ground on sunday. obviously not wanting to risk going all the way to geelong without a ticket and missing out , i bought a $38 ticket. i am a position where i can afford this but it must make life hard for people who cant. especially as g.a's are only $20

Looks me and the boys (three of us) left it too late to get a reserved seat at the game so will be watching it on channel 9 live. Tried yesterday afternoon at 4.30pm and they had no further seats left other than signle seats in different bays.

Just too far to drive the hour down and stand for the whole game and tyen drive back.
