    RWO - Contructive of Negative?

    Read mainLine in Inside Footy!

I am of the opinion that RWO is more of a boredom cure than a community service tool.

There are some very negative thread writers and you know who you are and there are some very positive constructive contributors whos material I love reading.

RWO is one of the best behaved Messageboards going. We usually welcome all comers and encourage all opinions so long as they are considered and passionate.

Well Jim, you'll no doubt get around to reading this and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy your work.

My wife even bought your AFL For Dummies book. It's great for her, but I am getting sick of the debates it raises about what the philisophical difference is between a crumber and a goalsneak!

I haven't seen the article, but as a general rule I'd say that it's both.

And like you said, one of the best behaved message boards so that really answers your question.

I use the board as a source of information.
Well, not so much any more. I suppose now I use it to see other people's opinions of players , administration etc, good or bad.

No - it is a forum for registered people to talk about the Swans anyway they see fit - Nothing more, nothing less.

If anyone thinks anything more, then they are an idiot.

Just a quick edit to say that it is a bit more as it is a forum for the fans to organise things such as the cheer squad, seating, tickets and things like that. But everything else is just (or at least should be just) harmless fun.

There is an interesting contradiction to this thread that is "David Brent funny".

              Ah, I hate that.
You assume that being 'positive' (shinny, happy, la la la) is constructive.

Let me tell you something; despite what you've heard, positive thinking has NO power.

My 82yo, life-long Swans supporting grand mother, thinks we're going to win the flag at the start of every season. She's been wrong now 70 years in a row.

In fact it's quite possibly the other way around, (although its debatable). Here's some information on depressive realism:

Pessimist is what an optimist call a realist.

footyhead, I rely on what is posted in the forum.
Now that the articles are all linked, I don't see them.
Maybe because I am lazy, maybe because I have a 56k modem
Maybe because it's a pain in the ass to have to track down the articles.
Not complaining, just saying how it is for me.

So I just get what I need from what people say here.
I came here for people's opionions anyway.
Haveing articles posted was a bonus.

Jim teed off on what I think was Bigfooty for bagging Hirdy and doubting his courage etc

Then he said there is a Swans based Messageboard that he sometimes visits but dislikes because of excessively negative threads suggesting the trading of players, bagging players and coach. I guess Jim thinks it's unjustified and gives him the negative vibes.

As for you Midaro...you "hate" this and "hate" that and positive thinking has no power. Tell me about the forward "power" of negative thinking?

If the Swans are such a let down for you, why have you not moved on to another club? Do you enjoy wallowing in the negative?

Jim Main is entitled to his opinion but at the end of the day that is all it is.

I don't like the negative threads, but this board is all about opinion and I'm open to reading what people wish to say. I've said before if the attacks become personal then that's where I think we should draw the line.

I love coming on here. I've met some new friends from being on here which I value above all else. For me it's some fun, hence I don't usually debate too much, not that I don't form strong opinions on some issues.

The article sounds typically like Jim and to be honest, he'd fit in really well here with his strong opinions and passion for the Swans and Aussie rules (and that's meant in a non negative way ) I usually only buy the mag for Mainline. Anything else that catches my eye is a bonus.

I enjoy this site - its the first one I go into when I get into the office of a morning - have a bit of a laugh - we get a bit passionate & sidetracked at times on certain topics but its fun.
I also find it gives me my daily footy fix so as I dont have to annoy my colleagues - who sadly none of them appreciate the joy that AFL brings.
We all have our opinions and on most we agree and on some we dont - thats what makes it so interesting.

                              Oh well, back to work!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
