Inconsitent in what they have paid in each of the forward 50's. We've got nothing, they've got soft stuff. It could be the difference.

      Edit: It WAS the difference

Of course it isn't going to change the result, but I'd love to know what the free kick count was inside forward 50 today.

On a separate note, how hard can it be to bounce the ball STRAIGHT UP. All day, they were hopeless.

They just said umpire Brett Allen is from Geelong.

                Explains a lot.

We may have got a few decisions last week from the Umps (first time for everything), but today Sydney got well and truly screwed

That's because for a fair number at the SCG, making noise at the football is a no-no.

IMO ordinary umpiring. Still can't work out why the free kick was awarded against Leo. The 50 against Magic was soft and they were paid an out on the full from a kick out which clearly bounced before the line. The free against Barry in the last quarter was also free, since when was a oush in the side illegal. The commentating was ordinary too. Lost count of how many times they held our man and yet no free kick paid.
At least we haven't lost any ground on the ladder and we'll just to have to beat Freo next week.
Unfortunately the errant kicking in the first quarter came back to haunt us.
The bouncing of the ball was shocking.
                      Bring it on!

I still can't believe the holding the ball decision against Barry Hall in that last quarter. He has absolutely NO chance of getting rid of the ball and he didn't dive on it or drag the ball in. Definitely the worse holding the ball decision I have seen.

If it's the same one I'm thinking of, that was from a kick out after a behind and it has to be touched before it crosses the line or it is a free kick. So that was a correct decision.

I didn't think the umpiring was too bad, apart from that shocker against Leo and the HTB against Big Bad in the final quarter. He had absolutely no prior opportunity at all and it allowed them an easy clearance from defence at a time when the Sydney forward set-up was looking dangerous. The free against Hall for the push was 50/50.

On our credit side, Tiger was lucky not to get a HTB decision against him in front of their goal in the first half.
