As usual, I spent most (OK, maybe 20 minutes) off the off-season worrying about the frailty of our big men. Then Schneider comes along, shorter than Williams, and plays a big big game. I think that he, Williams and Crouch are the three shortest players on our list (?). I guess that if you are shorter, you just have to be better (apart from Libba).
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.

Any chance of him winning the Rising Star for the round? Who would rival him for the award? Wells, Luke Ball, Salopek, how did they go?

correct me if im wrong but i dont think any other swans player could take a set shot from about 55m and kick the goal! imagine what he can do on the run!
Yep - same end, but different kick. I'm not sure why he was trying to be tricky if he was. I suspect that it might just be his kicking style.

I reckon he is just about the only one who can roost it from a set shot outside 50. Possibly O'Keefe too. Left footers often seem to have a more powerful kick.

do you guys think he will be dropped or kept on?
i think he definately deserves to be kept for next weeks team although it may be a tight squeeze for him in the selectors office.
On the 72nd yr the city of Sydney will rejoice in Premiership Glory.

My guess is that Ball will get it. I only had the Saints/Roos game on in the background but it seemed like he had a reasonable game and the official stats tell us he got 17 possessions and 1 goal. Whether he was "better" than Schneider, I don't know, but regardless I think the hype surrounding him makes him a better chance that our lad. Didn't hear anything about Salopek (and the official stats suggest he didn't play, but they could be wrong), while Wells did a bit but didn't seem to get much of the ball.

Brent Reilly, Byron Schammer are others who played and are eligible.

Schneider is a player of enormous potential and is already playing very well. Any likely replacement would be older with limited scope to improve . Even in my maddest dreams would I consider replacing him.

Schneides is good enough to pick up a nomination during the year His time will come.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Schneider did get robbed by the stats listed above.
He will certainly get a chance to get another nomination - cause I would say he will be in the team for a while with Cressa out and Doyley.
Go Adam and keep up your commitment.
We have to remember - nominations will always go Melbourne way.
Just like Channel 10 Sydney - only shows all info on Melbourne damn teams.
Wake up channel 10 - we are not interested here in Sydney town.
                                Love those Swans
