No, I don't think we can win the premiership now. We just do not look like the side of last year that was capable of doing anything, and I can't imagine we will recapture that form in the next 2 months.

Is the season over? Harder question, because I suppose it means different things to different people. In terms of a success it probably is. In terms of working on things to improve for next year, probably not.
LOL! seems like I'm not the only one. I thought I was the only dummy

I declare this thread null and void

Our slim chances of finishing 4th ended against Geelong. But they were slim anyway.

But we arent finished yet, and with a bit of luck in the finals, could play only in Sydney and Melbourne right through to the granny.

        Our challenges:
        1) Brisbane - sure to meet in GF. But we are about the only side who could beat them one on one. Interesting game in a fortnight
        2) Port - as usual going for the minor premiership glory too early. Will be spent by finals time.
        3) St Kilda - To inexperienced, and we have their measure.
        4) Melbourne - Again, I see them as no threat come finals time.
        5) Geelong - The rich vein of form they are in will end before September. Are probably the worst side on paper in the final 8
        6) Essendon - Gone
        7) Roos - wont make it
        8) Freo - no home finals, out quickly

Apart from the Lions, its wide open. Just hope we dont meet them until the GF.

Fosdike is a gimme decision. To make a statement, it would have been a Mathews/Crouch or now Mickey.

Our pattern of failures is very clear and pretty consistent. We hang on the hope for too long and often too late. We could have sent Fosdike out last year. If we dont send Mathews/Crouch out this year, I am pretty sure we will regret this non-decision by the end of next year.

looks like we have enough spaz's on RWO to keep the balance correct!

or maybe ill be dropped for poor decision making
I read the question correctly, and I still voted that yes we can win the premiership. If not, why try to win anymore games? The team has the ability, it is unfortunately not running at 100% capacity. We just need a good run with injuries from here on in and beat freo and/or brissie to get the confidence and momentum back.

There are references to how bad richmond is and they pushed the lions at home, we are a better team than the tigers, except for that ****ty game in the wet. I believe anything is possible, Port may even win a final!

I'm stupid as well and got my vote wrong

I think we're gone - we'll be lucky to make the finals and if we do we'll most likely be knocked out in the first week

What i can't understand at the moment is why we Roos keeps selecting players that are clearly not match fit. I'd have thought that now would have been the perfect opportunity to give Dempster and Thewlis some game time

i think we can still win the flag

no matter how stupid it may seem i will think we can til we are actually eliminated from the race and then theres next year.

yeh this team hasnt won in donkeys years sure the players can be disapointing and pathetic and sometimes you want to just drop them all for another team that seems light years ahead of us.

But this club is an awesome clubs and i always feel theres hope in the future. The swans have given me some awesome memories and i will love this club forever and anyone who goes for it i would beg you to forget any ideas of giving up stick with the team... when the flag finally comes it will be so wonderful....and if it doesnt (geez i hope that doesnt happen) then im sure it will still have been worth following the swans!!!!
