    Coverage in Melbourne

Given that this week's game is on payTV, then 2 matches against non-Victorian sides outside Victoria, it looks like we Victorians without payTV won't get to see a game before R4. This TV deal sucks.

It sure does. Last year, I think there was a total of four games that weren't televised in Melbourne.

Round 1 and 2 are on Fox Footy Extra Live, while our Round 3 match against Adelaide is Live on Ch 9 at 1pm Sunday. So all in all us in Melbourne without Foxtel will get to see us a grand total of once before we get the first of our 5 live games
      Once was, now elsewhere

The AFL website doesn't mention half the games that are televised on free to air in Sydney this weekend. Hopeless.

Where'd you get that telecast info Robbie? It's not on the Swans site.

Hey tree, the syd v carl game is on fox footy on sat nite, and I was wondering if your are going to the grand hotel in frankston as i will probably be there as it is the closest place showing the fox footy to franga.

Not this week CC, as I'll be away in the country.

Last year I went to the Dava to watch Fox as it is much nicer, but they don't Fox any more as they found it too expensive. I went to Kirkpatrick's in Mornington for the preseason game which is more comfortable and quieter (although in no better condition) than the Grand and I may end up there next week if its on live.

No worries tree, I m not really a big fan of the grand myself and if you could roll off a couple of nicer establishments to watch fox footy i would be grateful

The Dava was great, but no use now (did I mention I hate this TV deal?). I will definitely try Kirkpatrick's on the Esplanade in Mornington again. It's in the back bar, through the gaming room. It's lold and dingy but there's a projector onto a giant screen, much bigger room, there are some old couches to sit on, although the jukebox cut out most of the commentary when I went. With the Grand, they're the only 3 I've been to so far.

I got it out of my Foxtel Guide as I'm lucky enough to have Fox Footy.

It will be on radio though, right? I can remember having to follow at least one game over the Internet last year because there was nothing on TV or radio.

                            Don't even get me started.

Last year I emailed the AFL and they said they would do their best to change the situation this year.
I mean THE FIRST GAMES OF TEH FRIGGING YEAR!!!!

The Swans should be kicking all sorts of ass about this.
Donners, it wasn't on radio last year either.

                            Piss poor.
We should at least get a 3am replay.
I mean who the hell watches the game then
The AFL have screwed Melbourne based Swans supporters two years running, and so have the Swans.

I emailed them about the situation last year too, and the said they were dissappointed and would do their best.....

Yes, and before last year, that could have been streaming audio, but now we have to pay for that too. Not good enough AFL!

Saturday's game is meant to be on MMM. At least it will be broadcast, even if the quality sucks. Just a shame I will be out of radio range.
