    Roosey...do something please.

Is there any chance of our esteemed coach doing something about the structure of this team instead of looking cool and acting reactively.

That first half was pure Rodney Eade garbage.

In the second half, finally, he made a move. Nicks to the backline showed where his true place is. Quick at spoiling and was the only player, who for god's sake, ran in a straight line when he got it. Leave him there and we might some of our run back.

Another move was Bevan out of the backline and into the midfield. He was just too slow on Farmer, and at least he has some guts, is prepared to put pressure on the oppostion and finds the bloody footy.

Hooray McVeigh got some time. How he is not just put in the midfield and left there is just staggering. He gets the ball, has some disposal skills, finds space and creates something. I can go with the crap that his body is ready yet. He looks to me that he has strength now, and lets face it the alternatives are failing miserably.

Roos has gone with the same midfield structure all season and continues to start every game that way, even though it is an abject failure. I've had enough of it, get someone else in there who has some smarts and has a minute idea of how to win a centre clearance.

Roos - stop being reactive, be proactive and realise that what you have been going with is not the answer. It is the same every week. Are we to become another Hawthorn.

What is the point of having a team of negative taggers that give the midfield nothing. Keep using Kirk and Crouch as taggers by all means but get the rest of garbage out of the midfield.

And while on coaching, tell those clowns in the backline to run straight out of the backiline rather than in ever decreasing circles until they run up their own backsides. Hell it's nausiating.

While you are at it get rid of that stupid training drill where they stand in groups and handball in traffic. They are only creating their own crowd in a game with no free players. It is almost as if when a few players get around the footy they all look up and say " beauty, a training drill I had better get over there".

Do something different Roosy, please, while we still have a chance to resurrect the season.

Correction on McVeigh. I meant I can't go with that crap about his body not being ready.

Simone, I was born an optimist. Having followed this club for 45 years I get tired of us promising so much, getting a sniff of a premiership only to have it ripped from me by medoicrity.

Surely I am entitled to vent my frustration of again seeing sheer stagnation.

What do you want me to feel. "Ah well we are not a bad side and we will always be thereabouts, and maybe, just maybe, we will have a flukey, really good season and snag a flag".

Sorry, I want sustained success, not the rubbish we were served up today, and the coach must take some responsibility for it.

I agree Nico, great to see Nicksy back at half back doing what he does best.

People forget how important top shelf disposal is coming out of the back half.

Thought Kennelly was outstanding after half time as well.

Yeah, 15 handballs to gain 5 metres out of the backhalf, I don't call that top shelf. It's almost like the ball is in the back 50, don't dare kick the thing, handball it until you stuff it up.

                Sorry Anniswan,

I was talking about Nicksy's disposal.

I agree that if not for Nicksey we would be a real rabble. It's great to see him back in great form.

Nico why don't you just hit "edit " on your original post, and correct your mistakes there ??
Any way I think your posts are very informative, and it is not negative to see what is actually going on.
A lot of idiots on this site think that the players will get psychologically damaged if we say bad things about them - even if it is true and they do deserve it.
I say the Swans need to cut the dead wood out of the midfield, cos it is causing psychological damage to the Swans supporters having to watch this crap dished up week in week out.
And the sad thing is that somthing could of and should have already been done about it
IE trying out a few new faces in the midfield with some decent time there.
Mcveigh (as you said), Thewlis, Mcglone !!- god Roos don't you think we need to give a kid regulary getting forty touches in the reserves a shot in our @@@@Y midfield ? Wake up !!
Dempster - Mr emergancy! - I sure he is learning heaps from the crap served up by Bolton et el, week in week out- It is an emergancy Roos do somthing !! - other wise next year will be a write off as well. And make no mistake this year is a write off, we have no hope of winning the flag and with the development we have made to our list, probabley no hope of winning next year either!
Roos has fallen right into the trap of Rodney Eade Coaching - good firt year ( with @@@@ list), not enough Balls to cut into and cull list at seasons end, heaps of rotations, and very mediocre second year!
If he keeps this up, we can look forward to dwindeling returns for the next five years , while the Players slowly loose confidance in him, and then finally his replacment by an assistant coach.
                    Well done Swans.

I have to say I agree completely with Nico and (shock-horror) footyhead too. While watching the game yesterday, it seemed glaringly obvious that Roos had a lot to answer for. You can not blame injuries and unfit players when you continue to select them each week. Roos has to stop trying to find scape-goats (if it isnt the umpires, then its our injuries), and take it upon himself to turn it around. Start by picking fresh players.

There should be no injury excuses at the moment. Our injury list has reduced significantly.

In thinking about the game after the initial rage subsided, it just looked like Eade revisited. Going wide all the time, a team full of taggers, Leo back to his stupid days (maybe not entirely his fault as he has been promoted to a tagging role) short passing adnausium, everthing is negative, negative, negative, and hanging onto the footy for a week instead of moving forward not only from a stopage but on the run. I can't believe players backtrack as much as us and their kicking into the forward line is Auskick stuff.

Who is our midfield coach. Oh yes, Ross Lyon, who like Geishen where everything they get involved with turns to mud.

Ex Carlton midfield coach when they were at their worst and we cop him. Sheesh. You can't pick your family Roosey, but boy you are entitled to pick a decent assistant with some track record.

Nicks has really come back to form this year, which is great to see. I think he offers us options in either the back or forward line. May free up either Bevan or Kennelly for the midfield.

I think he should definitely be in the midfield. Goes in hard and although some of this disposal can be a bit wayward, I see good signs of it getting better. Also, I'm not sure of how good he is defensively, particularly the free kicks he gives away. I'd prefer him to be in a position where he goes in and gets the ball, rather than needs to react to an opponent so much.
Hooray McVeigh got some time. How he is not just put in the midfield and left there is just staggering. I'd like to see McVeigh get more time. Perhaps doesn't need to play the full game in the midfield, but he is very fit and could easily run around the ground all day long.

Yep - we stall horribly in the backline, both from kickouts (which we are hopeless at) and moving the ball form half back.
While you are at it get rid of that stupid training drill where they stand in groups and handball in traffic. I noted elsewhere this is a key problem with our clearances. We have everybody milling around the ball like an under 12s game, so there is no space and no one to give the ball to in the clear.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I agree 110% on this. Lyon must go at the end of the season. Sorry Roos he might have been your best man at your wedding or you grew up with him at the roys, but he is a jinx.

No wonder our midfield has been akin to Carlton's from 2002-03.

I now know we lost a good midfield coach in Malaxos and he could be the reason why we did so well last year.
