    Good luck Adam Schneider!

Welcome back Stuart Maxfield, Jason Ball and Rowan Warfe!

Welcome to Sydney, Craig Bolton and Nick Davis!!!

I've been deliberately low-keying this year's start... but seeing those six names in the team, plus Jarrad McVeigh in the emergencies, has gotten to me!
    We hate Anthony Rocca
    We hate Shannon Grant too
    We hate scumbag Gaspar
    But Leo WE LOVE YOU!

      no schauble and no fixter...

sounds to me as though roosy doesnt think of carlton as much of an opposition to make sure that these two are right... im glad to see that they are being conservative with their inclusions of injured players though

      whats with mcveigh?
      C'mon Chels!

Carlton have a very good side in - they will be tough to beat.
Their midfield is all class, and their forward setup is very strong as well bar j .waite. They have weaknesses with depth on their bench, and also a couple of weak links down back - this is where I hope sydney will exploit them - but we need to get the ball down there first, and this will be the tough part against carltons midfield. I expect a very close match, I'm quite worried in fact.

Good to see sundquist fit, although if he is fit i thought he may have been a chance to play 1's. ?
Great to see the two big fellas back in doyle and ball, good luck to bolton and davis as well as young schneider.
It will be great to see warfe kicked out once fixter comes back.
Other than that decent side which should prove quite competitive.

not really happy with warfe and barry in the backline ...never have.
and saddo lacks muscle so we are weak in the backs.
not sure why we can continue to play Jude but I suspect that this will not be the situation by mid season.
our emergencies look a worry so we do need our more experienced players desperately. The forward line looks terrific (if Nicks lifts)
ok, i'm entitled to my opinion.

              Shame about Fixter and Schauble.

Really pissed about mathews this guy contributes alot to our poor skill level and J Bolton(but if we want to trade him we need to play hom for part of the season, unless he turns it around of course).

              Goodluck guys.

Give Bolton a chance. Everyone is saying how well players are going to go under roos, the same can be said for Bolton. Agree with your comments on Mathews, the guy is a dud. Everytime he touches the ball he stuffs up. Good luck to Jason Ball!

Has Sunny even played a game yet in the pre-season? I thought he'd pretty much been injured throughout. It says something about the esteem he's held in to be even named emergency given his lack of preparation.

Slightly disappointed that Ablett hasn't forced his way into the opening team, although I guess it was a choice between him and Schneider. I'm certainly excited to see what young Adam can do but Ablett really needs to make this year count big time.

Backline certainly looks weak so it will be up to the midfield to make sure we get first use of the ball more often than not. I guess Ball or Goodes can be thrown back there to help out if need be. Its good to see all three ruckmen fit and ready to rumble!

Bit confused here. Why should Bolton be given a chance in the same breath that Mathews is labelled a dud. This is the same Mathews that finished 3rd in the 2001 B&F (deservedly IMO) and was top 10 last year. I know he wastes the ball occasionally, but on recent form he has been a far solider contributor to the team than Jude has. I wish them both the best - and the rest of the team. Let's hope they're all raring to go and have the confidence in themselves to pick up where they left off last year.

Our back line looks small but then Goodes or Stevens could always move to CHB for extra height and marking power. Forward line shapes up as being very dangerous with Ball/ Doyle in a pocket as a foil to BBBB. We could struggle in the mid field but Williams will probably play there with Crouch playing a tagging role on Ratten. This would maybe allow Tadhg to play as a running half back.

McVeigh must have suddenly improved to be named as an emergency because his early pre season form was ordinary.

Carlton look stronger than last year with the return of injured players but the same could be said of the Swans , in particular , with Ball back . Should be a good game with both teams evenly matched.

OCCASIONALLY, I wish he is a fair soilder and that is the problem you can't waste the footy that much and only be a fair soilder.

for me now others are head and he has to go back to the twos and work on his disposal and prove he deserves another shot.

The back line can seem small, but I could see either Ball and Goodes (or both) floating behind, you definately would not want both up front with Hall, Davis and Stevens (Throw in Schneider and O'Keefe), actually you have a damn fine group up forward.

                            What's a "soilder"?

I think this line-up looks pretty reasonable, given that we're opposing wooden spoon favourites. We have the benefit of being able to rotate some of these blokes around the field. I, for one, am looking forward to "The battle of the Gorilla's".
