Depending to where we are situated on the ladder, but I would hope to see 60,000 there.
Cher and I are travelling up from Melb so it may be 60,003 -
thanks for the welcoming, but i do think 60,000 is out oof the question i mean we barely got 50,000 to the collingwood game and considering they have the largest away support in the AFL i think maybe we should focus on 45,000........but in order to get a large crowd peopel are going too have to spread the word at work let people knoe the game is on and so on, we must promote the event, for the game has the potential too be huge2004 - SUBIACO

The WA Supporters Club know us now, so the faces we met at the Eagles games are now well acquainted with the travellers from "over east". I feel sorry for them that we have to be served us the rubbish they got today. Not only are they highly highly passionate and committed Swans supporters over here, they bloody well know their footy. They would be 1/3 expat Sydneysiders, 1/3 expat Victorians and 1/3 locals, but I respect them immensely for their passion for this club. Again the Irish club was packed after the match. RESPECT WA Swans Supporters Club!
As WS said, we gave as good as we got today and certainly stirred up the Freo supporters with our chanting and banter. I was actually laughing at times when Peter got the chants going, getting barns about the score from some of the locals, as others looked on laughing. But it stirred the locals up, that's for sure. The flags and Bam Bam's banners looked awesome, even if the TV only briefly showed us. Peter had a Freo supporter come up and say Hi; this bloke was actually sitting next to him when Plugger broke the record a couple of years ago.
The Freo supporters are great, infinitely better than the pathetic Eagles 'fans'. Wearing their colours with pride and chanting extremely loudly all around the ground, they sure know what passion is about. Very good colourful Cheer Squad too (with a big flag too Robbie!) The fact that a whole side of the stadium stood up to give Barry the razz (and duly laughed when he threw the phone away) when he got dragged is indicative of the larrikan nature of those in purple. Feral, but not aggressive personally to any of us. Good value the Docker fans. RESPECT FREMANTLE!
Peter Dave from Waikerie and I went back to Port1978 and Swans 63's place, where we watched the replay over a pizza. Was a good night with good people. Weird being in a house with a Swans supporter from Sydney, a Port supporter from Adelaide, a South Aussie from Waikerie and me in a house, in Perth!
BUT the highlight of the day AGAIN was Michelle, our number one WA Swans character! If you were thinking of the Swanzblondz in Sydney you have not seen anything till you have seen Michelle and her band of 3 legging blonde bombshells in their cowboy hats and red bra tops in action. Groupies would be a complete understatement.
Some of you may have seen Michelle recently on the Perth edition of the AFL Footy show screamingly drunkenly about her love for Barry Hall. You may also remember that after the Eagles game at the Irish club she stormed up on stage demanding to see Barry Hall so she could give him a small buddha statue that he had to pray to. Well, she was back complete with "Big bad buddha Barry Hall" banner and mouth even louder than ever. (Er, yes she was very drunk too). She proceeded to go up to Ryan O'Keefe at the after match screaming at him that he was "****ing hot" and then had photographs taken with him as if she were giving him a tongue kiss. She then went on to nearly crash-tackle Barry Hall, again. She then thrusted her breasts at at least 3 players asking for them to sign her guernsey, whilst she was still wearing it. Stewie Maxfield got up on stage and had to keep a straight face as Michelle screamed about how HOT he was. She was last seen outside the Irish club trying to get inside the Swans players coach, as the players were both bemused, embarrassed and laughing. And this after just storming up and eating a certain supporter's chip that he just bought off his plate without asking.
She however gained a huge fan in a supporter who shall remain namesless. Numbers were exchanged, and she was even offered to come back to Sydney in said person's car. I'm kind of scared she will accept his offer as well.
If you go to a match in Perth and get to see her in action at the after-match, it is seriously worth it. She should be awarded the Troy Luff Medal for sure for her effort today.
I had fun again today.

I watched the game with a few Vic Cheer Squad members - and we all commented how good you guys looked on the tele, just sad that our players didn't look as good!!
It may mean bugger all to the average person watching the tele. But I see what we are doing is trying to make a difference, even if it is generally quite a peripheral one. To hear Jude Bolton come out publicly and say that the players were disappointed in Melbourne against Hawthorn a couple of years when the Melbourne based CS sat upstairs is not ony a shock but very very pleasing. It means they know you are there trying to make that extra bit of difference for THEM. He apparently even said to a couple of members that they actually look for us at each away match. This fills me with tremendous pride, even if the results away from home don't always.
It is weird that this season we have had awesome away support in both Adelaide and Perth. We even had a whizzbang cheer squad with all its bells and whistles in Perth for the first time this year, at BOTH games! And to a lesser extent Brisbane too. And that we have impressed the home supporters with our passion and good nature cheering commitment and banter at every match, even when the scores haven't gone our way.
Sadly this does not change the fact that it is at home in Sydney where the biggest changes need to happen. It pains me no end that people look at the Sydney crowd and laugh derisively when hordes of people leave before the end of the match. It pains me no end that I'm leading chants to heaps of empty seats at every home game. And that there are people who will sit with us at away matches but still refuse to at home matches. I need all hands on deck, but never get it.
Hopefully with guys like Myles and Tony Morwood (who both came up to me yesterday at the Irish club) we will start to look at ways of building up the numbers and involvement in the Sydney-based Cheer Squad. That that involves the office working with us not against us. And it involves everyone understanding what we do and why we do what we do. And that I'm afraid is something that we struggle to do. As Sydneysiders really have little culturally to compare footy culture with.
But we'll struggle on regardless.
