About where we should be.
It is year 2 of Roos' 5 Year Plan.
We have a terrible injury problem.
Last year we played well above expectations, so to do it 2 years in a row, with only half the team, would be expecting too much.
If in two years time we are not in, or very near the top 4 teams, then I'll vote below. But to be where we are,( Tho dissapointing) it is a sign of stability, considering the players that have retired over the last couple of years.Comment

Right... so there is only ever any sense if it is a positive comment... I get it...Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I refuse to vote for the middle one.
We were preliminary finalists in 2003 - how anyone can say what has been served up this year is good enough, no matter what "5 year" plan is in place baffles me.
This has been one of the more dissapointing years in the post Barassi era of this club.
I am finding it sad that I am putting our late 2002 and 2003 performance to pure youthful enthusiasm and catching clubs off guard.
They have 5 weeks to turn it around to prove they are more than just a team that can spring the casual upset.Comment

Quite simply we over achieved last season, and had a relative injury free run during the H&A. If you look at things this season comapred to last Goodes has gone from Brownlow medal to struggling for fitness with knee problems, Mick O also a standout last season injury probs and only just now coming back to some resemblance of last season pre injury, also AS is no where near the form of last season thanks to injuries and unfortunatly not the depth to cover for these.Premiers 09,18,33,05

Improvements from - Bevan, Buchanan, McVeigh, Nicks, O'Keefe
But far less impact from - N. Davis, Goodes, O'Loughlin, Saddington, Schauble, Schneider, Williams, and no Cresswell.
The improvements just dont go close to covering for the quality of players on that 2nd list. It's almost a "who's who" of the swans, and they havent delivered this year through injury. No wonder we have struggled this season.Visit my eBay store -

I must say though apart from a couple of games where injuries peaked some players have been found wanting, and the depth is not what we thought.
You forgot Davis, who was a key in the forward line and ability to play in the midfield. Expect him back this week. We really have missed his finishing.Comment

I say below... i dont even consider last year when i say that. But we play some quite s***house footy for about 2 and a half quarters and look awful then suddenly turn it on just about every week (bar say the power game) and almost catch up...sometimes even win...
theres not one game we have really played a good 4 quarter game...except stkilda.
I think we show in patches what we can do... and thats why i say we underachievedTheres not much left to sayComment
