Originally posted by CureTheSane BTW, I just noticed taht I would have got 8 last week if it wasn't for the Swans
But then it was a pretty easy round to pick I suspect...
I got 7 as well because of the swans but i never pick against my team so it does bother me but it doesnt
"I feel it in my fingers i feel it in my toes... Sydney Swans are all around me and there everywhere i go. A premiership is there beside me and thats all i know"
Only $1 for a cornetto that is DAYLIGHT SAVINGS!!!!!
*whistle, whistle* 8 out of 8 here!
I picked Freo as being a long-time Swannie I KNOW that when there is an important game to win that the Swans will, most likely, let me down! But as far as it matters in 2004, I think it matters not one damn! Finishing in the bottom half of the 8, and most probably meeting either Freo or Geelong on their own dung heap again, could mean another first game exit!!!
Having said that, there's no reason why, on the night, we can't beat the Lions. This will, of course, be dependent on a number of things: a) whether they have 18 on the ground or the 21 we usually play against with other teams; b) has anyone at Brizzie handed the umps any bulging plain brown paper envelopes lately?; c) will Akker be playing?; and most importantly d) can we slip Lynchie, Akker (if he plays), Lappin, Vossie, Black, Pikie, Chris Scott, and a few others a Micky Finn before the game?
No seriously, I can't wait to see the Lions live...what I regard as the very best football team I have ever seen...they are everything I wish Sydney could be!
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."
I'll admit I tipped against the Swans - but for the first time this year! I have been pretty optimistic about their chances in games this year, but didn't think they could do it this week. Glad to be proved wrong! Have a feeling we could see another good old-fashioned SCG thumping of the Roos this week, if the Swans turn up.
