What is a touch finder?
Is it something like a fact finder or view finder, or more like a water deviner. Sounds like it might have some sort of sexual overtones.
Is it something to do with the school curriculum at a GPS. What's a GPS.

A GPS is a global positioning system. It is used as a directional device, through the help of roaming satelites, to help get you from a to b and also to let you know where you are. Hope this helps in clearing up what was being talked about in this thread

I am guessing "GPS" stands for something like "Greater Private Schools"

Sorry, should've explained.
GPS (Greater Public Schools) is a group of schools consisting of Kings, St Josephs, Shore, Riverview, Grammar, Sydney High, Newington and Scots.
It's known as one of the premier schoolboy rugby competitions in the world, for example, the 2000 GPS Premiers (Kings) went onto win the World Youth Rugby Cup.
To make a school such as Kings or St Josephs 1st XV is quite a feat, and to make the GPS 1st XV, and subsequently the NSW 2nd XV as Hayes did, is a massive honour. Many of the current Wallabies come from the GPS system, including Phil Waugh.
Therefore it's fairly obvious that Hayes was no slouch as a Rugby player, made even better by the fact AFL was his first game.
He's a GPS record holder in the High Jump, so the guy has got a fairly amazing spring on him as well.Comment

I think it's when you kick the ball out of play (further up the ground your way) in an attempt to gain ground, forcing one of those throw-in thingies where they pull the tall man up by his shorts (the name has temporarily escaped me). To be good I guess you have to be able to kick a long way.Originally posted by Nico

A touch finder is used when the opposition is right up on your line, the idea is to get the ball out as far as you can, with one bounce before the boundary. They're taken under extreme pressure, and Hayes was regularly able to kick these about 50 - 60 m with a pin point bounce before the line.Comment
