    Davis, Williams, Schneider, Fixter

So, the win last night gives us a very high probability of making the finals. If we beat the Kangaroos next week - it's virtually certain.

However, odds are that we are not going to finish any higher than 7th or 8th. Which will almost certainly means that we will play Fremantle or Geelong (maybe Essendon) at the MCG in the first week of the finals.

Here's the AFL ladder predictor: http://afl.com.au/default.asp?pg=afl...ticleid=163389

You know that MCG obligation we all hate? - well, it may save us from playing Freo at Subiaco! At the very least it won't cost us anything.

The other thing that strikes me, is that our injury worries CAN still evaporate before the finals, (no, I won't touch wood - I'm not superstitious).

    Here's what I mean:
Davis - Has had 2 weeks in the reserves. He should play this week.

Williams - Seems to be a week-to-week proposition.

Schneider - The only source I've heard about him, says it's just a tweak. Maybe 1 more week, (plus 2 weeks in the reserves I hope). Prossibly back for Richmond.

Fixter - I believe he'll play reserves next week. He probably needs to show something special to get back in the team this year.

Which, still leaves us with the possibility of fielding the best team we have all year - in Round 22/Finals Week 1.

    This team CAN beat anyone:

    B.....Crouch....Schauble....C Bolton

    HB....Barry.....Goodes......Nicks

    C.....Kennelly..Williams....Mathews

    HF....O'Keefe...Hall........Maxfield

    F.....Davis.....O.Loughlin..Schneider

    Ruck..Ball......Kirk........J Bolton

    I/C...Bevan.....Doyle.......Fosdike....Buchanan

    Emg...Ablett....Fixter......James......LRT

So, for those of you presupposed to optimism there is plenty of hope.
For the more realistic of us, there is at least the likelihood of a 50/50 elimination final in Round 1 of the finals.

    Nick Davis HFF.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I say leave both Schneider and Fixter out for the rest of the season. Let them get ready for a full pre season. Willo and Davis are sure to come back into the side.
      Once was, now elsewhere

If we lose, and the Dons beat Carlton, we are out of the 8 on percentage.

        HUGE match this week.

          My team :

          B: Mathews Schuable Nicks
          HB: Barry C Bolton Williams
          C:Kennelly Maxfield Crouch
          HFavis Hall O'Keefe
          FF: O'Loughlin Doyle Schneider
          Ruck:Ball Kirk J Bolton
          I/C:Bevan Doyle Goodes Buchanen

          Williams to rebound ala Kennely.

Goodes to play on ball but not at the bounce be moved onto the ground instantly at the start of every quarter.

I don't like Mathews as a wingman because of his poor disposal.

Doyle to get more game time while being a tall mark in the goal square (which we lack).

C Bolton,Goodes and Barry to play as the CHB depending on which CHF it is.

Agree with Fixter, but Schneider is worth the risk IMO.

Even as badly underdone as he was in his last stint, he always looked a class above. The football brain was there, but the body wasn't capable.
Give him a fortnight on the ball in Canberra, and he could be a valuable inclusion.

Depending on injuries I would like to see something like this:

              B: Mathews Schuable Nicks
              HB: Barry C Bolton Crouch
              C:Kennelly Maxfield Ablett
              HF: Davis Goodes O'Keefe
              FF: Bevan Hall O'Loughlin
              Ruck:Ball Kirk J Bolton
              I/C:Schneider Doyle McVeigh Williams

With Barry, Mathews and Kennelly all pretty much interchangable during the game. Same with Goodes, Maxfield and Crouch. and Goodes, Hall and O'Loughlin. Davis can roam between the midfield, half and full-forward (same as Schneider).

I really want to see Kennelly playing on the wing. I also really want Bevan starting in the side though he is probably better suited coming off the bench. I would love to see Goodes playing centre. McVeigh should still get more playing time! Hard to find a spot for Buchanon, Fixter, James and the Hyphen. A completly fit Schneider and Williams makes the selection umm, interesting to say the least. (I hope they are both not automatic selections in the team now as we played better without them in their current form and fitness.)
