I didn't in Perth and regretted it.

Practically speaking the Lexus Centre works well for our aftermatch at MCG, and of course it won't be needed during the finals series by the Magpies will it?Sports do not build character. They reveal it....Heywood Broun
I always turn to the sports pages first, which record people's accomplishments. The front page has nothing but man's failures......Earl WarrenComment

Don't beleive the media hype people.
Despite Eddie rattling on about the place, it is still owned by the Victorian State Governement (through the Olympic Park Trust) and is used primarily by the Victorian Institute of Sport as their home base.
Collingwood have a lease on the building for the next 10 years and have paid through the nose to outfit the joint with the government. Part of that deal (which allows them to recoup some of their costs) is to have naming rights while the lease is in place.
As pointed out, this is a great spot for an aftermatch at the "G". Should ensure a huge turn out when we beat the Tigers.

Will be a good aftermatch venue IMO, provided the drinks service is speedyComment

Another reason for me to make the trip. I spent many hours staring at blurry black lines at that place (and have a box full of medals to prove it) and would be curious to see it in its latest incarnation. Never saw inside it as the "Entertainment Centre" though.Comment

Re: Aftermatch Function v Melbourne FC
Surely it is not that hard for the Melbourne Office to organise some type of aftermatch function?????
What they have done this year in regards to Swans fans getting together in Melbourne has been pathetic. They have Bells Hotel - which also happens to be the pub where Adelaide and Port Adelade (burp) supporters watch their games. Billy Bell couldnt give a stuff about the Swans and only wants our $.
The supporters group that meets at Rye Hotal welcomes people down there. However a few friends went down to watch a match and told me it was terrible as everyone there wouldnt shutup and didnt really seem that interested in the footy.
I dont think it would be that difficult to organise some type of function centre for all of us to go to after games (well we'd only have to book it five bloody times this year). Im sure that if it was organised well enough we would have a lot of supporters going along and the function centre would make a lot of $ over the bar and the Swans would make a lot of $ through membership or merchandise sales.
Most aftermatch functions have been cancelled.Comment
