Speaking at the AM on Saturday, Nick D said he was hopeful of getting a run in the As this week after two weeks in the 5ths (5 goals I believe)...If so, who would make way for him on last week's showing? And if Willo is back...who goes? And, with the Lieutenant, kicking 7 goals agaist the Tuggers, should we find a spot for Warfie up front too? I personally like this option, as being a Star Trek fan of many a year, I love it when a game against the roos can boast two Star Trek Captains (Captains Kirk fom the origial series and Archer from Enterprise) as well as Lieutenant Warfe... Now all we need to do is find a player called Janeway....
Nick back?

He would have to be coming back in, I would guess after last week it would probably be Heath James making way... which is not to say that I think Heath James should be the one to make way... if that makes sense...I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time -

Nick is a player who needs to be match fit to have any impact and I think he will need a few games in the 1's before the finals if he is to star.Comment

Davis and Schneider
If Davis is match fit they should bring him back into the A's. We need his goal kicking ability in our forward line. The fact they he has had to play a couple of games in the 2's begs the question why wasn't Schneider also given a run in the 2's before coming back into the A's? Don't get me wrong as I'm a big fan of spunky (had to throw that in) Schneider - I think it was unfair on him to play him str8 into the A's when he was clearly so unfit. Give Schneider a couple of games to get match fit in the 2's and we'll hopefully have him back at his best for the last couple of games and into the finals.Occupational hazards:

Can't agree with that Tilt, IMO Davis is the sort of player that can play a half, pick up 5 kicks......... and kick 5 goals, might be overstating it a bit but he is an "impact" player not a workhorse.
Nick doesn't strike me as the most professional player on our list ala Crouch who does everything possible to get on the paddock.
I heard Nick interviewed on SEN a while back where he said his diet isn't the best and he is addicted to wedges..I hope his epitaph doesn't read"wasted talent"Comment

Schneider was probably rushed back in to fill a void but would definately have been better off getting some match fitness through the ressies. They rushed Nick back before his ankle was right which further set him back. There's always that fine line when a player is itching to get back on the field and says he is right when in fact he will not be 100 %
And Barry Schneider - Nick's diet does leave a lot to be desired !He who laughs last thinks slowestComment

i've been getting increasingly frustrated with players not taking the set shot from outside 40m. davis is the one player on our list prepared to do that on a regular basis and having him in will reduce the predictability of our play.
as long as he is fit in terms of injuries he should be brought back immediately. aerobic fitness (never his greatest asset) is something that can be dealt with on the run.then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i knowComment

Well he is in for Heath James. Personally I think he is a touch player who nearly always is in touch because of his talent whereas a bloke like Jude Bolton whose game is built around hard running needs the fitness. But Nick needs to address his diet and his aerobic fitness. In 2000/2001 he was pretty fit and got high possessions on a lot of occasions. He looked a bit podgy when I saw him on the news (had love handles)LIFE GOES ONComment

Have we been watching the same team? Sydney's goal kicking was woeful against Freo and Adelaide. And it could have used Davis' potentially match winning spark to have won us the Geelong game.Occupational hazards:

Good to have Magic and Nick both on the park. Hopefully both will be fit enough to deal good damage."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment
