Deepest condolonces to the trainers family, and really puts a different perspective on the dissapointment I was feeling at the loss.

Roll on Melbourne next week, do it for Wally.
18 men don't blow 40 point leads because of this.

This is a tragedy for his family, friends and the club. I think it is silly to link the lack of passion the swans had tonight to this awful event.

Leaving the tragic news aside for the moment and simply commenting on the football, half-way through the last quarter (in fact a few minutes into the last quarter) they controlled the ball I knew we were in real trouble. Our cohesion was well and truly gone by that time.

I'm not using this as an excuse, but everyone knows that no matter how focussed your are sometimes, if there's something playing in the back of your mind it can really cut you up where it matters.

I'm just as dissapointed as I was before hearing of the news, but still, you look towards the bench and see someone that you probably consider a friend recieving serious medical attention, it would affect you, simple as that.

Very said to see and see the emotion of the players - only some of the seniors were there - Saddington very upset. Seymour was sitting on the ground near the bench and just not moving - he was a mess when the ambulance went.
Very feeling and show of emotions from all the team and support staff.
Some of the swans staff visibly shaken one throwing chairs to get them out of the way.

Many people stayed behind - not to gawk just devastated for the family and the players and staff.

            So sad for his family.

A loss tonight of the game as previously stated is nothing - a game that somehow got away. Think our guys were exhausted and were already wearing black arm bands - I missed why

But would they see who it was or what was happening? All they would see is a crowd of people around someone. I think from the ground it would be very difficult to see what was happening over on the interchange bench in the middle of the game.

Sorry but I don't agree with you there. I'm sure the players interact with the interchange bench alot more then we probably know, and they would notice the absence of the runner coming onto the ground, without a doubt.

My mistake then, what about a drinks carrier?

He was the head trainer, surely he would have some on field role in the game?

Totally removing the tragedy from this for one second....

90% of players wouldn't know anything about what is going on at the bench until the end of the game.

You simply keep playing as instructed until a new message comes out. You don't look over to the bench for instruction unless you need to come off yourself.

Most of the players would have been told as they were coming off or in the rooms.

We're going to have to agree to disagree, because I believe players would have the awareness at the longer stoppages to look around, see who's coming on etc.

I'd be interested to see who actually came on following the incident.

                          Ball did, didn't he?

I don't think the players ever really look at the bench and I doubt if they really know what was going on over there.

I think he was a strapper, so I'm not sure how regularly involved with most of the players he was during the quarter.

He was the head trainer in charege of people like Seymour - Seymour is devastated
Players would of known like previously said - Ball would of - Maxfield came off too - h e was on bench - Seymour would of known and I think the shock would of been spread

I've only just got home, I feel numb.
I was sitting in the front row in the ladies stand tonight and I noticed a commotion to my right with 10 minutes to the end of the game.
There were a heap of medical staff right there with him. They were doing CPR for what felt like an eternity. I don't want to get too graphic but I could see that he had passed away.
Jarrad McVeigh saw what was going on before he went on to play. Obviously he was shocked just like everyone else.
I don't know what else to say.
