    Clapping the swans off.

Look while I don't condone anything stupid - the fact that a large propotion of the Brewongle stand decided to clap the team off has left me almost as angry as the inept display the boys put on in that last quarter did.

Is this the only bunch supporters in the world that would clap off a team that just lost a game to a team despite being 40 points up?

    I am still bewildered...........

The @@@@wits that clapped the players off are tools.

I would rather see 7000 diehards then these pathetic supporters.

Like someone said above, the clapping made me almost as angry as the loss itself. Up until this point I have loved the Sydney crowd. I have never seen an AFL game outside of this city, but would gladly trade in many of those there tonight for the die-hard spirit that seems to come from Melbourne in particular where mediocrity (or plain incompetence) is not tolerated.

I could not believe they clapped. I still can't. I was so ****ing ready to boo, and thought everyone else would as well. It was the least clap-worthy performance I can remember seeing! Shame on you all!

Bloody hell, I've never been so angry as I am tonight! I hate that I care so much about a stupid football team....

I was going to start a post about this, as I sit in the Brewongle. Must clarify though, I had a very good look around and it was a small minority (20% max).

                W*&kers.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

And most in the Brewongle had seen what had happened to Wally. We were as distraught as the players. It was a team rallying effort (IMHO). Most people left from the other stands. In the Brewongle, we had seen what was happenign for the previous 10+ minutes and the game had lost its focus ... actually at first we thought it was Stewie.

Can I just ask - why did the people who clapped the team off do that?
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."

No one in my area of the Brewongle knew of the tragedy and still clapped a team off that just blew a 40 point lead to a team that has now taken our place in the 8.

We're still in the 8, and honestly, whether we won tonight or not I didn't see us a real chance at the premiership.

not many around us Clapped either, but we could see the players reaction to the bench. They were standing gob smacked looking in that direction unsure of what to do or where to go. Jared Crouch finally called to them and ordered them off the field. It was at this point I clapped as a sign of support. They were still working on Wally, but from the reactions of those coming from that direction it looked very bad.

Whether they could have rallied or not is another thing. I don't think thread was started as an excuse, more of a statement of events (I could be wrong).

As I said, I still feel very shakey and I'm an outsider looking in. And the best thing for me is to go to bed I think.

Apologies to anyone I've offened, but I'm upset.
