    Assessing our list

I think this is a perfect time

Go ahead, say what you really think!

I'm one of those people that gets attached to players very quickly and is reluctant to trade for that reason only (am blinded by their lack of talent).

Tonight, my anger has taken over everything.

We need a midfield. B1 is not the man to lead us to a premiership. We need a ruckman. We need less defensive midfielders and more players with genuine skill and ball-winning ability. We need some grunt in the backline.

I think it's sad that the only untradable players I can think of (other than those who are too old, of which I include Kirk and Schuable) are O'Loughlin and Hall.

    Re: Assessing our list

Goodes, Hall, Barry, Kennelly, Kirk, Bevan, O'Keefe, O'Loughlin, McVeigh, C.Bolton and Schauble we can keep, plus the rest of our draft picks from the last two seasons. The rest are available at the right price.

Build from there, unless a super deal comes up I rather see Doyle stay on as well as.

Won't happen though. We'll see the 3 max delistings and thats it. Can't go upseting the golden children and the Brewongle Stand now can we

We need a high-quality, classy midfielder. Someone like Williams was, or Judd or Black are now.

We need a quality inside midfielder who can get clearances for us.

We need a decent ruckman. Someone who can tap to advantage and can make space and mark around the ground, as well as drop into the forward or back line as necessary.

We need a solid CHB, about 195cm and strong, quick and agile.

We lack in all of these areas. This may bring the rest of the players up to a useful standard, although many still lack skills, particularly under pressure, don't think enough often taking the wrong option, and just seem to lack heart or commitment or something at the critical time.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

The coaching panel needs to have the guts to drop players who continually espouse appalling skills. Right now it is looking very much like 1997 - 2002 1/2. No variety, no adventure in player use, same old style, soft under pressure.

They must be assessing players on possessions alone and not the quality of play. There seems no pressure on players to keep their place.

Dare I say it, but Peter Rhode got the chop because he was too soft on his so called leadership group.

By the way what happened to Maxfield after Qtime?

Ben Mathews should be traded. He is not good enough. Stuart Maxfield has no impact on games anymore. Doyle's cons outweigh his pros about 100:1.

Kennelly makes as many mistakes as he does good things, but I agree that he is one to keep. Keep O'Keefe, Buchanan, Schneider, McVeigh, Craig Bolton, Goodes, O'Loughlin, Hall, Bevan, Kirk, Schuable and Saddington (!) and do whatever you friggin' like with the rest. I'm beyond caring.

Fosdike is probably the luckiest man on earth tonight, I reckon.

i agree with the ruckman need as jason balls hourglass is almost out but i think our defensive half is ok with the likes of bevan, benny matthews and crouch running the ball out of defence, if it wasnt for these guys our game would be alot more stop start style and less goals kicked. I think every1 is jumping the gun abit its one loss remember we had a great win last week and have 3 more games left. Give them a let down now so they dont have it in the finals.

Its a fine line between plesure and pain. Too offen its pain. Wins like last week hide whats really wrong with this team. No guts, no glory.

Has there ever been a more stop-start player than Ben Mathews? Ever?

Has there ever been a team with more defensive midfielders than we have now?

                  Assuming we make finals!!

What about the losses to Geelong, Fremantle, Richmond, Essendon, Melbourne... I don't think they were all strategic let downs!!

I agree, although I thought the end of last season would have been a great time to start the rebuilding process. It really seems that the club has given away its focus in this area ie, its not a subject that seems to come up much. I wonder if this stems from over-confidence due to making it to the prelim final last year?

I'm one of those people that gets attached to players very quickly and is reluctant to trade for that reason only (am blinded by their lack of talent).
I'm not. In short-they're cattle, under-achieving cattle at that in some cases. The club needs to make hard decisions in that area.

We need a midfield. B1 is not the man to lead us to a premiership. We need a ruckman. We need less defensive midfielders and more players with genuine skill and ball-winning ability. We need some grunt in the backline.
Agree with all of this. I would also suggest that our Forwards have NO defensive abilities whatsoever where our attacking 50 is concerned-especially at kick ins (shouldn't they be manning up? Or do they believe that their opponents kicking is as inaccurate as the kick that the saw the opposition wind up with the ball in the first place?).

I think it's sad that the only untradable players I can think of (other than those who are too old, of which I include Kirk and Schuable) are O'Loughlin and Hall.
I still have alot of faith in Goodes (for example), and it was actually great to see him being put into the ruck towards the end. As Glen Archer says, "If you don't want to get hurt-play Tennis".

What is your problem with the Brewongle stand Robbieando.
Here we all go picking and choosing - as if we are all coahces
Leave it to coaches and football managers.
It will be a turnover at the end of the year - it is obvious.

                      What happens happens

Nos sense getting all tied up in knots.
                      Love those Swans

                        Excuse me!!! Keep our defence!!!

10 goals in the last Q suggests we don't have one of any quality when it counts. When Leo Barry is the general in defence any side is in serious trouble.

Doyle is a liability to the team.

He is hopeless. Seriously is there any one string to his bow??
                            Can he actually do anything?

He can't mark. He can't catch the ball. He is un-co-ordinated, hardly up to league standard. Worst of all, he has zero footy smarts.

Corey ran over the top of him in the final quarter.

                            Get rid of him.
