    Three Quarters

Regardless of whether all the players knew about the tragic death of Wally Jackson in the last quarter and the effect the lost would have had on the players, the writing has been on the wall all season in regard to a loss like this.

When the Swans have had a comfortable lead up to three quarter time, I get the feeling Paul Roos and the players are content with the lead and are only interested in shutting down the opposition and playing a defensive game where very few goals are scored and therefore the Swans only win by a few goals. This, in effect, destroys our momentum and doesn't help our percentage as well.

Give a team like North this situation and 8 out of 10 they will capitalise, given the shinboner spirit they have in pleyers such as Archer, Stevens, Grant, Simpson, King, Harris etc etc.

Roos has to drum home to the players, and himself most importantly, that AFL football is played over four quarters and not three and that percentage boosting wins are important to a clubs percentage and confidence just as equally.

To highlight my point, the Swans should buried Fremantle in Round 2, Hawthorn in Round 9 ( which nearly had the same result as Saturday night ), Western Bulldogs in Round 10, St.Kilda in Round 11, Adelaide in Round 15 and Brisbane in Round 18 in the last quarter.

Hopefully positives will come from this result and the Swans will change tact with there thought processes in the last quarter of games and start to approach the last quarter with as much intent to win at all costs like the proceeding three quarters.
