Funny that - I was thinking that someone would mention Cressa as I thought of him after writing that too. However, I wouldn't put Bolton in the same category as Cressa - nowhere near as effective. Also, I think Cressa was noticed doing useful things, however you didn't notice just how many possessions he picked up.

Bolton may not be in Cressa's league yet, but Cressa was not the champion midfielder to begin with that he was in the last 4-5 years of his career.

In fact, wasnt he more a run-with player to start with, in a way similar to how Kirk has developed?

True to some extent, although even in 1996, which was his 5th season, he was already having a positive influence on games. If comparing to Bolton, then 2004 is his 6th season, and I would suggest at similar points in their careers, Cresswell was far more useful.

Well, ahem ... as has been posted on this thread, that'd definitely be "playing the man"

And every adult knows that young teenage boys are -

            excited by using invective - boys using offensive language to feel tough is so common it's a cliche;

fascinated by homosexuality - boys embracing homophobia to cover up their fears about their own sexuality.

Now, who does that remind you of?

ut my perception is that he is a bit Buckleyesque in that he may get a lot of the ball but often doesn't do alot with it.
That may be a bit harsh on a reigning Brownlow medalist, but over Buckley's career, that is my perception of him.

Play in the midfield = automatic 25 posessions in my book.
That should be ann average game.
30 is good, and 35 is great.
If you seriously think that Buckley 'doesn't do a lot' when he uses the ball, i doubt that any of your opinions are worthwhile. What game do you watch! Buckley and Hird are the standout players of this generation and there strength is they hardly ever waste a disposal.Surely even Caroline Wilson wouldn't argue this.
The way you and your bros. continue to savage JB is a joke .Maybe you should try and be a bit more positive and show some insight.Jude will never be a 'game winning 'player and his talent is probably over-hyped but he sure doesn't deserve this childish vitriol.

Which particular statements on Bolton would fall under the heading of 'childish vitriol' or would you prefer to leave it as a broad generalisation?

After watching the game vs Melb last night I still stand by an eariler statement I made that we won't win a premiership with Jude at R/R. Our "fortunes" in that game seemed to coincide with Jude's performance.

He had a great first quarter - as did the swans team. He seemed to disappear in the last half - as did the swans team. Maybe this is tactical but when Jude was distributing the ball effectively at stoppages the whole team looked much better!

I agree with everything you have said about CTS 's comments, except that it is childish to critisize Jude. Jude Bolton is being over paid and over hyped, and that is bad for the Swans.
As for Buckly CTS, you have not watched Buckly, he is the best disposer of the ball. His pin piont accuracey with his kicks is awsome, and he hardly ever has a miss directed delivery. Unlike jude.B
