What a first visit to the SCG what started as a wonderful
experience sitting back in the MA Noble Stand behind the goals
surrounded by a sea of red and white the Sydney chant going up
regularly the view was great so close to the action all this was
spoiled by one quarter of poor football and more importantly the
sad event which unfolded during it. I was not aware of who was
being treated but it was obvious it was serious one can only
imagine the feelings of the players amd staff on the bench after
all the swans are like one big family and the football match pales
alongside the loss of a human life you get another chance in
football only one chance at life. Some good things came from my
experience I did not feel uncomfortable in the crowd and there
were quite a few in the members reserve but they were friendly.
I guess anyone who has had their face rebuilt will always be
self conscious in a crowd but I had no trouble what so ever.
Finally on a positive note I will repeat what I said when I first
fell in love with this club 30 years ago I may never smile but I will
live to see 22 footballers 20 in those days wearing red and white jumpers carrying that premiership cup around the MCG.
Remember no matter how bad things seem now there is always
next week.Thinking of everyone. cheers Ian
