    What a prediction!

Last night I predicted that our pace and anticipation would be our weapon this season, particularly against a slow side like Carlton.

Prediction was an open forwardline with players like Willo, Fozzie, Nicks, Davis, crouch and Maxfield shoving it down Bazzas throat.
Then these players running in to take the crumbs.

Nice to be spot on and be able to brag.

I made one mistake though. I forgot to included Schneider. How good is this boy.

Jude Bolton knockers please take note of his game.

And to you Hammo, who said this was the worst side in a decade.
How many slabs amd valiums did you say you had last night.

It was a very even performance - If you had to give scores to all the players most would get high B's low A's. Very even performance.

That was the most pleasing thing for me, everyone contributed, making it very hard for me to pick the players to give TLM votes to.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

We didnt play as well as everyone is saying. We played ok but Carlton were pathetic. They gave away possession so easily on a consistent basis. Bolton wasnt all that flash and Goodes gave away a few scrappy mistakes i.e: the sitter in our defensive 50 in the opening minutes.
Most of the younger blokes performed well but it was an ok performance for the start to a season. Carlton just made us look better than what we really were.
        - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

We might just be underrating our performance.

Carlton worked hard in the first quarter and a half and looked competetive, but then our pace took over.

The press will be bagging Carlton but don't be surpised if they prove not to be as bad as "we" made them look.

a huge contributing factor to the blues getting the spoon last year was the injuries to all their stars, they were playing last night! on paper, carlton looked like a strong side with pagan at the healm but we made em look like the wooden spooners of this year as well!

I actually said weakest not worst, but who's counting. I'm happy to be proved wrong.

It was an excellent performance, made better by the fact that everyone contributed. Saddington's effort was sensational, and Goodes' entertained wonderfully, but as has already been said by others, it's very difficult to say who were the standouts.

BUT, we were playing possibly the worst team of the decade.

AND, we only had Ablett, McVeigh and Sundqvist in reserve.

Still, I'm certainly looking forward to next week.

at least it proves we are far from worst, Carlton is a cert for the spoon on that effort.

Lot's of people playing this win down.

Quite often teams play down to th elevel of their opposition.

And remember one thing, this was a win.
                  Success brings success.

I am feeling pretty good about this season.

                    Nico,

Did you predict that Leo would continue his excellent form of the last couple of years?
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

                      What excellent form?

First quarter wasn't bad but still flies for the speckies instead of playing the percentages, and noticed how he cut back onto his wrong foot as usual and had nowhere to go. Don't understand why he doesn't go with his first instinct.

He goes left then right with regular monotony, so I guess that when he goes onto his left there is never an option. The only conclusion I can come to.

8 possessions in the first quarter, 3 in second, 4 in third, 1 in last.

Typical performance. Looks a real chance for a quarter then doesn't go on with it. I have never seen him play 4 quarters.

                        lol

If you want to talk about possessions... There were only about 5 players who had more possessions than him in a game where he played in DEFENCE and we WON by 74 points!!!!! For those who can't work out what I'm getting at... the ball is not in defence that often when we win by 74 points, especially after an even first quarter.

If you can't give a guy credit afetr a performance like that you're never going to!!

Best: Sydney: Williams, Goodes, Barry, Bolton, Davis, Hall, Schneider.

                        lol again

im with u bear... the reason he had so much of the ball in the 1st quarter was coz carlton were actually in attack, the rest of the game, well...
