Our Troubles clearly start in the Centre

If one thing was clearly evident from the last quarter of
Saturday nights match our biggest troubles are in the midfield I
lost count of the number of times the Kangaroos quickly cleared
the ball from the centre straight into their forward line and you can"t always blame Ball and Doyle, midfielders are supposed to
be excellent readers of the play and ours seem to lack a little in
this area. Also we lack real speed in the middle I would be
tempted to play Jared Crouch permanently there at least he has
explosive pace and good delivery skills. Young Tim Schmidt from
what I have seen reads the play well similar build to Greg Williams
and I like the way he plays also a good tackler well worth giving
him a go, actually I would rate both him and Sean Dempster ahead of Mcglone at this stage, play Dempster on the wing he is
a thumping kick it would be nice to see the ball going direct into
our forward line for a change

Couldn't agree more and thanks for the feedback on the ressies players.

Is it McGlones size that you think might count against him at the moment or something else?

Also how solid is Dempster at the moment, is he going to end up similar to Kennelly or is he a future KPP possibility?

Not so much Mcglones size but his disposal of the ball I think he
might make it but he"s got some areas to work on. As for
Dempster not a KPP yet best on the wing or forward flank but if
he can bulk up over the preseason I have no doubt he can play
in a key position not everyone on this board agrees with me on this but i"me standing by my judgement.

It seems that the reaction time of our onballers at centre bounces is that little slower than the opposition. They appear to have quicker, stronger bodied players who are able to break free more often than not from the initial bounce. Maybe opposing coaches have worked us out, and rotate certain types at centre bounces.

I have noticed that many times our players are placed well back from the fall of the ball when it drops at the rucks' feet.

Midfield coaching perhaps?

his game has dropped off quite a bit over the past few weeks. he's still getting in there and getting the footy, but it's nowhere near it was when he was peaking midyear unfortuantely. He also got a knock to his thigh a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps this is restricting his disposal in some way.
