They make some good noise and should do the job well.
I'll pack my thundersticks tonight. Can't wait for Saturday night. As Big Kev says, "I'm excited"

Gee give yourself a pat on the back why don't you.

Personally I think that you start bugger all chants and waste your breath chanting at boundary throw ins.

That bloke with the white hair would do more good for the atmosphere than the entire cheer squad put together. The main reason for this is that he is sitting with Swans members, not tucked away in a little area in front of the general admission.

I admire the passion of the cheer squad, I think it needs a bit of guidance though.

        Such as???

Don't think we don't try our hardest because we do and for this very reason we brought the drum in to try and get more people involved. Against Brisbane the Cheer Squad did its job well and made a difference to the chanting. But your right the position the cheer squad is in doesn't help us that much. We chant more offen than Peter, but he gets the better effects going and thats down to positioning.

However watch us (or try to hear us on Saturday Night) 200 Swans fans in the Cheer Squad with both Julian and Peter sitting and working together. No wonder the cheer squad in Melbourne sounds better.

I agree but when Peter chants, he is starting it off by himself and getting ALOT of people to join in which gradually get's double that from all over the stadium/dome/ground. When the Cheersquad starts, you're working as a team and 150-200 people are cheering. Another point is that with Peter combined with the Chhersquad, the cheering etc will be a massive crowd to deafen (sp?) most peoples ears! Laugh my toosh off!
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

I'm going to be there but will be under duress. Not only do I have my normal throat thingie, yet again. But I was diagnosed as having acute celulitis of the right leg. I just thought the thing had been swollen because of the socks I sometimes wear, but no it is not in a good state. Which explains the unbelievable pain I felt in it when I had to sit in the back seat when travelling back from the Carlton match.

It is weird how you act differently after you have been diagnosed wth something. Kinda like the schoolkid who cries after told he has blood on his elbow.

Not too many Strongbows on Saturday night for this Swan, I don't think.

Well, but whose fault is it where we are situated at the SCG? As I said, my dislike for the ground has much to do with the area I sit in. As we are detached from the rank and file. Greg Bell was up the back in the GA section at the North game and said it was going off. But there was no connection between the chants they were making and the ones I started down below.

We have swans members behind and around us at Homebush. At lot of the time they can't even be bothered clapping along to our claps, let alone joining in. It all depends on how big the game is and how "up" everyone is on the night.

I'm not giving myself a wrap Captain. I start the chants in the Sydney-based Cheer Squad. For this reason I am the only person allowed onto the seats to get them going (which I personally think is a complete wank.) For this reason my voice is more often than not in tatters by the last quarter. And I often get a throat infection because of it, because I work in an air-conditioned call centre where my throat gets even more stressed from all the calls I take. :-(

Basically me and Alex Evans start the chants, and everyone else joins in. It was really good at the Lions match because I had RobbieAndo, Benny_W, Seth, Beaussie, Gemma and Sava the Mad Serb to help me out. Hence we totally went off that night. Against North I HAD to do it on my own, when my voice had totally given up the ghost.

In Melbourne I let Peter start nearly all of them. I enjoy playing 'second fiddle' because I'm not needed to get everything started. Pete also has a far louder voice than me. In Melbourne chants could be started by Pete, Robbie, me, Alex, or even Leigh who sits down the front. And there are heaps of people willing to stand up and join in. We should have even more of our Sydney-based chanting types there, so it should be mental.

Saturday night should go off. Should be some of the best singing seen by Swans supporters for years. Will try and get "stand up if you love the Swans" going. It worked a treat against the Lions.

Don't be in too much of a hurry to get here - the weather is dreadful. Grey, freezing and windy. Thank goodness the game is at Telstra.

It shouldnt be hard for us to outdo the melbourne supporters - they are a joke. They are all kiddie fiddlers.

I'll take care of the Swannies cheering in the medallion club. Anyone with access, see you at the glass in the medallion bar about 30mins b4 kick-off.
