    Reasons to be cheerful

    Hi

I've been reading lots of posts over the last few days - about how cr*p the team is, how they don't deserve to reach the finals, etc.

I too was utterly miserable this weekend after the loss on Saturday night (why does it matter so MUCH?)

But then it occurred to me, we have lots of reasons to be happy about the Swans.

    They're not a cr*p team.

Woefully inconsistent YES (I've bitten my nails down to the elbow)

    Heartbreakingly disappointing at times YES

    .. but not cr*p.

If they WERE cr*p, they wouldn't even be a hope of getting into the 8.

Things aren't that bad. Here are a few reasons to be cheerful:

    1) Sydney-based fans don't have to travel interstate to see our home games
    2) It makes the end of the season much more exciting if you don't know where you'll end up
    3) We're not Hawthorn
    4) None of the boys have a mullet

    So smile and be happy!

    Kick it! Kiiiiick iiiiiiiiit!

Well said BaZooka Woman - I agree - I am sick of reading that word "crap" about the Swans. I think people use it as an expression as much as they use "f..." word. About time we let go. The guys are playing okay but of course we would like them to step up the temps. It is nerve racking - and I get extremely nervous - but they aren't crap - like dishevelled Hawthorn - but even their present coach Donald - speaks about the players at Hawks and their good points.
So please stop the Crap talking.
    Love those Swans

True, but they often play like a crap team and that's what makes it extra frustrating.
Woefully inconsistent YES (I've bitten my nails down to the elbow)
      Absolutely!

      Definitely.

It depends on what crap means. Not playing to your potential and throwing away games that we should win is pretty crap.

Meaningless for non-Sydney supporters I'm afraid.
      2) It makes the end of the season much more exciting if you don't know where you'll end up
It would be more exciting if didn't know where you'd end up but you had a good chance of winning a flag?
      3) We're not Hawthorn
Yep, we've not won 7 flags in the past three decades...

      4) None of the boys have a mullet
      At the moment...

Reasons to be cheerful (part 3)- a great song by Ian Dury and the Blockheads!

"Bazooka Woman". Is it just me or does that name conjure up the feeling you have something to get off your chest?

The thing is though, when I hear the word bazooka what comes to mind is more along the lines of melons, jugs.. you get the drift.

Her now-cult banner is spelt "BAZooka" (ie Barry kicking goals like a missile launcher thing.)

Thanks matey - it's good to know my hand-painted, hand sewn banner, that bowls me over when the wind blows and creates calluses on my hands, was worth the effort!

I didn't mean it as a personal attack at you Bazooka Woman.
Its just what comes to my mind initially.. the tacky vs the barry reference. Sorry to offend!

                          - I should've replied re the first message..

Others saying that we're a cr@p team, me, I don't intend to really discover the inside of many other clubs and maybe THEY diss their own club too. I don't think that we're the only supporters that have a go at their team. Sh!+ happens so yeah. Heh
