    Umpires this week.

Does anyone know who the umpires are this week? Not that it matters that much as they all seem to hate Sydney. Goldspink is starting to look pretty good!

Was this on the Footy Show? Because I watched a bit around midnight and noticed that p***k King was on the panel.

If so, what was his response?

He was nervous that a free kick may have been paid against him for pushing Davis in. So at least he is honest enough to realise that its a tactic that is less than fair.

He wasn't proud of it but they won.

On Fox League Teams they showed the footage of the push. Mike Sheahan used it as his gripe of the week and said a free should have been paid to Davis. He said outright that the umpire made a mistake which cost Sydney the game. he actually seemed pretty angry about it. It only made me upset all over again. But it is the first time a media person has said unequivocally that the umpire's mistake cost the game.

To be fair, I don't think it was a premeditated attempt by King to milk a free. It was basically a bump and Davis just lost balance and fell into the center square.

Yes King virtually admitted he'd gotten away with it .. and they all laughed ..

i wonder if the umpires ever flick through the net and read certain feedback from certain messageboards?

well I sure hope not. Imagine Goldspink's attitude to the Swans AFTER reading some of the comments on here! Scary.

What annoyed me about the King push on Davis was that apparently Dean Laidley said it was "good play". Can anyone confirm this? This is against the spirit of the game IMO, almost worse than staging because you're trying to 'frame' an opposing player by making them look more in the wrong, if that makes sense.
Now that I think about it, I don't condone Cressa's reaction to Motlop's push either. Ah well....the Roos got their revenge, hopefully now we've gotten "karma" the umps will start giving us a fair go.

I ahven't seen any reply of the last quarter, nor do I want to. It was bad enough that the mpire paid a match winning free for deliberate, regardless of whether it was deliberate, it sucked that the ick was taken by a player who was not closest to the incient and now you tell me this about the centre square infringement.

What is hapening this year with the umpires treatment of Sydney!!!! I hate them. And I hate bloody North Melb too. No wonder they have so few supporters! Grrrr. I can only hope that a win tomorrow night will put this week of football related grief behind me.

Don't forget Corey McKernan's goal in the last quarter that should have been disallowed because Kirk was struck by Jones. Jones got suspended for 1 week for that incident, yet the goal was not disallowed.

The decision to pay deliberate out of bounds late in the last quarter was perhaps a brave one, but where the umpire got it wrong was by not forcing the player closest to the incident to take the kick. A player was tackling Ball at the time, surely he should have been made to take the kick because he earned it?

And the King incident was unforgiveable. On TFS when the incident was shown, right afterwards Davis was clearly seen to be making the "push" signal to the umpire, as if to say he was pushed in.

So it's now considered "good play" to cheat, coach Laidley?
