    goodsie, you da man

ok Jude and Sneider did good but ADAM is the MAN.....what a great game and brownlow medal stuff . T he complete footballer and did he kill them in the ruck and all over the ground with strong marking and a natural feel for the play.
ok, ok a couple of crap kicks but superman has his weakness and wayne carey has , well, his little over-active cashew.

His form since Roos took over is perfect. All he needed was the knowledge of which position he will play. While he beat a weak ruck set up in the centre, his around the ground play was fanastic. Might be beaten against the Primus's and Darcy's of the world but against the rest he will be a very dangerous opponent.

Goodes has got to be the most complete player in the AFL. Try to find a position he can't play. Glad he plays for us, just hope he remains consistant this year.

If only he can learn to do the SIMPLE things, he'd be the complete player!

Got the talent, no doubt about that. I'm hoping he adds consistency and focus to his game this year - IMHO he has the tendency to do "just enough" for every situation - ie: that dropped defensive mark.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

he is a star, but he is also human. He will make mistakes, but brings so much more!

As I have said before, Adam goodes has become the new Kouta, that is the best way to sum him up atm imo.

I'm with you all the way. Not quite Kouta yet (at Kouta's absolute best) but he's up there most of the time. The two players ARE very similar though (athleticism, diversity, funkin' damaging). I always rate him as one of our best.

His work at ground level was superb and he brought down some clever marks too. However his radar boot was turned off when kicking for goal. If he had kicked those 4 goals it would have been a 100 point thrashing and he would have gotten the 3 Brownlow points no question!

I was hoping he would pick up the VC role. Does anyone know if someone has been named or is this going to be the year of NO VC?

He's gone from $200 to $35 with one betting agency for the Brownlow after Saturday night.

He won't win it, but was pretty good value at $200 - I almost put a few dollars on it.

Even if he has a consistent season (which is his big challenge), his vote-gathering capabilities are too much of an unknown.

With Doyle and Ball (hopefully) firing, and when we come up against sides with competitive (let alone gun) ruckmen, it's going to be a challenge for Roos to find a role for Goodes that suits.

I still think his best value is starting across half-forward, dragging his man regularly up into the midfield (a la vs Hawthorn in 2001) - IMO we can't afford to have him as a permanent pinch-hitter in the ruck.

It'd sure be nice for him if he did win the Brownlow.

Yep - it will be interesting to see whether he becomes one of those regular good players who just can't seem to attract Brownlow votes. Tell you who will challenge again - Andrew McLeod. He looked simply awesome on Sunday (again!).

I think his best value is as an old-fashioned ruck rover. Wandering where needed, doing to ruck occasionally around the ground, dropping back to help the backline, running the lines, and finding space in the forward line.

I would suggest that Kouta is a poor man's Adam Goodes.
