CTS's thoughts on the Demons game.

Kennelly had a good game, seems to be modelling it a bit of Leos game. Sometimes I get them confused because he is starting to run the same way.

Leo had a blinder. Stopped Neitz and racked up a few possy's himself.

Doyle was great. Hopefully starting to come of age.
Many hit outs TO OUR PLAYERS. So many times I see a clear tap but it goes to the opposition. Doyle did a great job.

Ball seemed to have had a weight off his shoulders with Doyle in some form.

O'Loughlin can mark a ball, eh? I feel I was preempting the end of his carreer at the start of the season. I'd love to know how his knees are. So happy to have him playing so well again.

What the hell was Goodes doing alone so much?
The lack of respect from the Demons cost them dearly.

I hope whoever had the winning raffle ticket is happy.
Because of them we all missed the push & shove over the boundary line.

And I have no idea why Hall was denied that mark 5m out from goal.

Guess that's because I was watching ants from level 3 lol

Was it Maxfield who was reported?
    And what for?
Missed all that too, but I thought he also had a great game.

    We played well.
We seem to ba able to rise to a challenge this year.
I don't mind if we can't beat lowly sides come finals time
Obviously a must win game, given some of the other results this week.
Next week's game should be a make or break finals game for us next week.
Unfortunately it will be for the Bombers too.

Just because Bazza (innocuously no doubt) sent someone flying into some chairs...no need to get all huffy puffy about it! Maxfield got into the biff a bit, but there weren't any serious punches thrown, don't worry!

A Ryan O'Keefe push in the back, methinks.

T'was Maxfield, and for a late punch in the guts (do not know the official terminology), but was very soft, and should not even make it to the tribunal, IMHO.

      Thanks.

They didn't replay the Hall incident, or the Maxfield one, so blink and you miss it.

Couldn't imagine Maxfield being over the top.
I'll watch the footy show in the morning and have a look

GOODES was the one on the mark of the Demon who the maggot checked the # of -- does that mean Goodes got reported?!

Typical @@@@ night for the maggots -- umpire McLaren was DISGRACEFUL (send invoice to RED, R&W Online).

        If Adam's # got traken I'll #$%ken spew.

It was hard to tell. People were talking about this last week but it looked like the Melb player's number was taken as Goodes swung for the ball and the Melb player started grasping his face in pain and appealing to the umpire and then stopped suddenly and smiled - I thought the umpire took his number for trying to milk a 50 or something...

Maxfield reported. They did replay the event on tele and said he had nothing to worry about in the tribunal.

Read punched Maxfield twice in the boundary scuffle.

Barry was having cuddles. Why does the media misinterpret these signs of affection?

I don't think knobs like yourself would be happy if we got a 0 count aganist us, I dont think you could say the umpiring influenced the game at all.

I thought the umpiring was OK. I wish people would learn when to yell "baaaaalllllll" and as per the rules, rather than at every tackle.

I thought Doyle was OK around the ground, but he got no where near the ball at the centre bounces - when he was in there Melbourne looked more dangerous. Last night highlighted the importance of Ball to us.

The backs were great, the forwards worked hard, the centre were workman-like.

                Magis is magic.

I think a few wallets will be lighter after melee charges and at least a couple of striking charges will be laid. We were sitting practically right over the top of it. I reckon Jude could be in a bit of bother and a Melbourne player should be getting a rest. Baz should be OK.

I went to the Lions v Hawks at the 'G as well and I can say that I REALLY appreciated the roof last night!

The last quarter, while effective, was horrible to watch. I found it embarassing and frustrating. I sang the song with gusto for the win, but I hope we don't do that too often.

Great to see Micky O'Loughlin back to some of his best.

He was awesome last night and probably should have scored at least 7.

He needs to be a bit more selfish instead of looking to pass it off from 40 out (as he did in the 3rd).

I was having a look at the Melb papers and they are suggesting Barry might have to answer a charge of rough play for slinging Nicholson over the boundary. It would be a joke but wouldn't surprise me if he was suspended. The brutal actions are let off while the softest are penalised eg Farmer's knee

I think MOL passed a few off because he didn't want to pressure the hammies late in the game.

Or is it a confidence thing. He started passing them off after he put that mongrel punt through in the 3rd. Generally though it is something that he and Hall do a bit too much. They are both good kicks and that is what they are paid for.

I think you are the one destroying the love on the board mate. To call that umpiring influential is moronic. It never had any impact on the result of the game, was fairly consistent around the grounds. They are only human mate. Tonight was one of our better weeks with the umps.

GOODES was the one on the mark of the Demon who the maggot checked the # of -- does that mean Goodes got reported?!
And why would Goodesy's number be taken?? He's on the mark...wow!! Try watchin the game and perhaps even learning it dude. Stewie hit a guy in the ribs while goin for the footy (no case to answer) - even if Adams number was taken it would be thrown out straight away. Get real mate.
                            - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

I too get sick of the stupid calls for holding the ball.

I was thinking last night how for so long Melb people bagged Sydney people for not knowing the game (which only held any creedence for a couple of the early years anyway IMO) and I noticed that all these Demon supporters (mainly) had no idea.

Perhaps it was more hope than anything else.
Sort of begging the umpires lol

Anyway, one more observation I forgot to mention was that Amon made some great leads IMO, usually unrewarded.

Also, I remember 'someone' had the ball, and Schuble was our only player clear to recieve the ball, and he motioned to the player to kick long into a contest rather than to him.
Thought that was a bit silly, deciding for the player.
Can't recall who kicked it though.

Saw the push & shove on tv this morning and Maxfield copped a couple to the chin.
Great to see him in there.
I am a big wrap for a captain who defends his troops in a physical way when needed.
And likewise, the players need to be in there supporting him.
I remember years ago, Paul Kelly was having a big go with a few opposition player and not one Swan came to his aid.
                              That really annoyed me.
I think the culture is a lot better now.

A game like last nights, will all the emotion etc, can have a lasting effect on the team.
Might make them an even tighter unit
