    3.Recruit a Brogan/Charman type player.At least fifty games.
4.In the draft pick up a young KP forward or two.
5.Play LRT at CHB the entire off-season.

I see no reason to pick up a quality midfielder.Nor a KP backman.

Just a KP forward and a ruckman.
Do you think anyne would want Ben Matthews? Or Heath James? (Have my doubts as to whether he is up to AFL standard over a full season.)

Would anyone consider looking at getting a draft-swap for Ablett? Maybe swapping Abletts with the Cats might be the thing to do?

Would love another tall defender too. We seem constantly undermanned down there, with smaller running types than aide our handball/running game out of defence. Schaubs is highly serviceable. But I have doubts over his pace as he gets older.

      Why a KP forward?

For a number of reasons -

Against Brisbane for example, they have Michael,Bradshaw and Leppa as their Tall defenders. Both Bradshaw and Leppitsch can play forward. If we miss Hall or O'Loughlin they can drift forward and expose the lack of height in our back line.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion on this website, but this dellusional thinking that we can just delist or trade away all our mid range players because they are not going to be a Judd or win us a premiership is a joke.

Fact is, list management is a fine line. You can't go in with a bunch of youngsters (who are not ready to play AFL) week in and week out only to have them smashed (physically or mentally). This will get these players and the club nowhere and you might just end up destroying some promising careers. Have a look at Barry Hall for example, in a strugling side his career was going nowhere and was almost finished due to the teams in-ability to get the best out of him.

The club has a 5 year plan and it this stage is sticking to it. We have retained our draft picks in the last couple of years and Roos has given our middle range/aged players the chance to prove they can be part of the team going forward.

Next step will now be to bolster the team in the postions Roos has identified as needed (KP Backman, Ruckman). This will be either by try to trade some players he feels we have positions covered or by using our first pick for the right type of player.

At this stage the plan looks on track to me. Hopefully at the end of the 5th year we will have a well blended flexible list ready to legimately challenge for a premiership.

so what you are trying to say is we need a KP defender who can drift forward. This is entirely different to the KP forward that you think we need to trade for.

You'll hardly find Hall, O'Loughlin, J Brown, or A Lynch playing in defense any time soon. Also, if Doyle continues to grow in confidence and stature, he will be more than a handful when played out of the goal square. But again, you wont find him manning up a key defensive post.

We need a CHB, not a KP forward.

We should see if Essendon want to trade Scott Lucus. Tall, and could be played back or forward.
