    Spriggs and Rariley

Geelong are looking to move these two on at end of season for the right deal of course (sorry about spelling of Rariley) are we interested? and what should we offer?

I like these two one a defender and a speedy wingman/on baller although spriggs has questionable disposal hes very qucik and can tackle as wells as win his own ball as for Rariley could make a strong back up for Schaubs/Barry.

Take them both for Fosdike. Spriggs would gave Jude Bolton some competition in the looks department. Also see if they would throw in Playfair.

They won't 'throw in' Playfair unless you give something worth considerably more than Fosdike.
Given geelong's forward situation, and their constant difficulty attracting players, they'll hold onto Playfair unless the offer is exceedingly good.

Must admit I've always rated Spriggs highly. He looked like he could be real quality until he was struck down by injury, but he's struggled since then.

Could be a real bargain if he can get back to his old form?

I agree if he got back his old form before his knee injury he would be a very handy player to have in our midfield. However I doubt we'll be interested at the price the Cats will put on his head.

With the side chock a block full of young talent, it may not be a case of putting a large sum on his head. but rather having to off load him Reilley for whatever they can get to a) free up some cap space and b) be able to cut 3 from their list.

Really think their maybe some value for Spriggs in a trade.

Spriggs wouldn't come with a huge price IMO. I'd be happy to have him at bomberland, quality player just needs time and confidence to perform, can't see him breaking into the future cats midfield. Late 2nd round or early 3rd round draft pick.

Why do we need a KP backman? We already have C Bolton Schuable Barry and Goodes when he plays there to play on talls. Then we have LRT,James and Rogers.

We need a ruckman, top four pick.Probably we need an experienced midfielder to carry the midfield till McVeigh,Ablett,Schneider etc devlop into full game midfielders.

Because none of these guys is particularly big.

Because we have little tested depth in this area, with LRT, James and Rogers yet to establish themselves as regular AFL players, particularly in key defensive roles.

Because, fantastic as Leo is at playing on the likes of Gehrig, Neitz and Lloyd while giving away inches and kilos to them, it robs the team of his more attacking instincts

Because Schauble has a history of soft tissue injuries

Because Goodes is wasted as a key position backman when he could be playing on a wing or as a ruck rover

Because we have more coverage in the reserves for the midfield and more midfielders developing in the nursery

Because if we can draft another quality 17yo midfielder or two in this year's draft they could well be ready to start making a contribution in 2006 or 7, queuing up behind Willoughby, Schmidt, McVeigh etc. If we draft a quality 17yo KPP we would probably have to wait an extra two years or so for them to make a meaningful contribution.

The answer is Koszcitske. I would sell the house to get him

I'll chuck in mine as well, what do we have to give up for him though our late first round pick might not be enough? maybe Fosdike as well?

your late first round pick would be far short of Kozchitzke's value.
Fosdike and 1st round would be laughed off by saints, what use would they have for Fosdike in thier stellar midfield?
If they had to give up Kozchitzke he would command a very early draft pick, but apart from that they would want a ready made, class ruckman or defender as a replacement.
They'd want at least your 1st and 2nd round draft picks, and probably someone like Saddington may interest them as a top-up on the trade.

Every club in the competition would compete for his signature, and hence you can't get him in the preseason draft either, you'll have to trade up BIG to get him.

Not every club in the comp has a salary cap concession.
Would be good to get him but it sounds like a pipe dream although I think the Saints might pay a price in signing Hamill to a 5 year contract just as their young stars are looking forward to mega dollars.
