    Reserves

I watched the majority of the reserves game near the swans players who were out watching the game. LRT seems to be coming along nicely and Mcveigh was a solid team player. You could tell a lot of the boys wanted to impress but with a team comprised with the majority being fillins they were beaten comprehensively. Number 19 was a solid mark, no idea of the name and i think it may have been Malceski that caught my eye as well. A decent performance by those who needed to.

With the reserves back, albeit in an 'minor league' competition, we wanted to get there at least to see the last half, however in the end we only managed to see the tail end of the final quarter so didn't see enough to make a judgment. Motor, as the Bs were thoroughly trounced by the tuggers, is it that the established teams in the Canberra comp are that much stronger than the local brand weve been playing these past couple of years? What was the reason for the shellacking? Surely a B grade team of near as damit to AFL standard players should be able to beat teams from an 'inferior' competition such as the ACTAFL...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Swan_song; they were a pretty decent side that the b's played. But the majority of the swans team were younger blokes playing out of their league, over 50% of the team were from a selected state side. Some were impressive but those trying to impress generally tried to do the spectacular, bar a few, so they could burst onto the swans a team. Qeanbean (i think thats it) were a pretty good side, but it was obvious that the younger bloke lacked a few years experience to be able to match the Canberra league.

The Queanbeyan Tigers have been a top rated team in the Canberra competition for many years. They have been great rivals of rich and powerful club Ainslie over the years . Incidentally James Hird played for Ainslie as well as Nathan Buckley for a while (as a junior) .
