    South Australian Swans

Just got the club newsletter in the mail. It is generally a pretty good read.

Enjoy the small story about all the expat South Australians who now play for the Swans. They even showed a picture of them all in their SANFL garb. Matthew Davis is wearing the best guernsey of them all, that of North Adelaide, the good old Red and Whites.

The interesting thing about the South Aussies is their comments in relation to living in Sydney. Basically everyone except for Nik Fosdike have said that they are not more than happy here, even to the extent of Matthew Nicks saying he was going to live well after his footy career. And Jarrod Crouch quipped about being given honorary 'nationality' as a New South Welshman by Paul Kelly after playing here for 10 years.

Some of the comments are pure gold. Heath James said "Adelaide used to have cranes on the top of the buildings to make it look as if something was happening"

Matthew Davis said "When I moved here, the club assigned me to live with Barry Hall, so I spent the majority of my home-life living in fear."

Hmm, Fosdike is open about saying he misses Adelaide. Wonder if he would interested in being traded to the Crows or Power for a draft pick etc etc.

I wonder why the Adelaide boys seem to happy to be in Sydney, whereas many of the expat players up from Victoria often can't wait to get home once their careers in Sydney are finished.

Being an expat from Adelaide myself, with no desire to ever go back there to live, I know exactly why they seem so happy to live in Sydney. For me, it was good to see a couple of former Bay boys in the Glenelg strip.

I can only imagine how Matthew Davis felt - you'd be picking up the newspapers and stacking the plates properly at Bazza's house I reckon JF!

There was an article earlier this year where Hall said that Davis asked for his permission to stay out later than originally planned, much like a son asking a dad if he can hang out with the boys!

Nah, would still be going down the road for some Thai or Indian.

Would just be paying for 2, I think.

Um, at last check of the SANFL ladder

the Roosters are well ahead of the lowly Redlegs.

I have been to all our matches in Adelaide over the last 2 years. I have a good pal there so I really enjoy my time in SA. The Adelaide Hills are just awesome. Kangaroos Island is beautiful as well.

Just a great way to get away when you go to SA.A 20 minute drive has you in the country. Even Seth was quite impressed with Adelaide when he went over for the Port match. Said it was "a bigger version of Newie". (no red behind posts in Newcastle mate! )
